Chapter 6

Rylee's POV.

"Nash, please calm down. Rylee cannot hook up with your uncle if that's what you are thinking about," Elizabeth said with a soothing voice as she placed her hands on Nash's hands, holding my arms firmly against the wall.

"Then why?" Nash drew his face closer to my neck and sniffed me deeply.

"Why can I perceive my uncle's scent on her?" Nash announced, and everyone on this floor gasped, "Ah! Impossible! Alpha Malakai cannot have anything to do with this cleaner! Are you crazy, Nash! How dare you slander Alpha Malakai's name!"

Nash ignored the chaos that had erupted on this top floor of the hotel, as I saw that we were on the 7th floor. The hotel was a ten-story building.

"Answer me, Rylee? Who did you mate with?" Nash asked, his anger evident as his yellow eyes held mine.

I tried to rack my brains to think about who was the man I had slept with. But I cannot remember him.

"I don't know him, but he is not Alpha Malakai. I swear to the moon goddess that the escort is not your uncle. Can I afford him?" I asked Nash with a smirk, but he shook his head and calmed down.

"No. You cannot. My uncle cannot be smitten by a woman of your caliber," Nash said, and I frowned.

"What's that supposed to mean? I am pretty, Nash. Is it because I spent all my money on training you and saving for my younger brother's tuition f*e into the university?" I queried Nash, and I saw some young women gasp.

"Oh my! Is he not the same man that proposed to Bella Harvey yesterday night? So he cannot even pay for his own University f*e..."

Nash glared at the women gossiping about him, and he tilted his head back to face me.

"Fine, I am not saying that you are not beautiful, Rylee. You are the most pretty woman in this pack. Only that, you are an Omega, and you and I both know that my uncle cannot make an Omega his mate. Only a Beta, Gamma, or Delta she-wolf is permitted to ascend the throne with him," Nash said, and I nodded.

"That's fine. I am not hoping about your uncle either. So, end of our conversation. You should keep your distance from me starting from today and focus on your new girlfriend or should I say, your engaged mate and avoid me," I spoke to Nash with a cold voice, and he flinched.

"Rylee, I cannot avoid you. You are my girlfriend, and I didn't care if you hook up with another man last night. I forgive you as I know that my mistake drove you to do it. I hope you used protection with the man. You cannot have a bastard baby," Nash said, as some of the workers left us and went for their duties.

"I know. I used protection," I mumbled, and Nash smiled with relief and wrapped me in a warm hug.

"I am so sorry, Rylee. I promise to make it up to you. I will get a new job and will try to talk to Bella. She is an understanding person. Please..." Nash held my hands and looked at me with his enchanting yellow eyes.

I looked away from Nash's face to Elizabeth's face, and she nodded with a warm smile and gestured for me to forgive him.

"Fine. I will only accept you back as my friend if your girlfriend accepts for us to be together. But you know that she might not just accept. Not just her, but her family too," I mumbled, glancing at the elevator that unlocked, and Beta Fabian came out and summoned Nash.

"Nash, Alpha Malakai requested to see him in his office."

"Okay, Beta," Nash replied with a warm smile to Beta Fabian, who looked at me with narrowed eyes. I cannot believe that Beta Fabian was the same man who asked those women to deliver those beautiful dresses to me. So why was he looking at me with disapproval? Did he regret sleeping with me, or did I disgust him that much?

"Rylee, I will see you later. Take care of yourself," Nash said, as he let go of my hands and ran up to the elevator to catch up with Beta Fabian.

The elevator door shut, and I looked away at Elizabeth, who looked at me with concern and shook her head.

"Are you alright, girlfriend?" She asked me, taking the black polythene bag away from my hand.

"Yeah. I am fine. Let's go," I said, walking away, and we went to the elevator stand and waited for it to return.

Some other cleaners were working, as I was on leave today. Since it was Saturday's morning, I didn't work on Saturdays and Sundays, as they had different sets of cleaners who did it.

My work in this ten-story building was from Monday to Friday, and I was on morning and afternoon duty in cleaning the hotel's rooms, sweeping the tiled floor, mopping the tiles, and washing the toilets. That's what I was subjected to do, and I was paid 100,000 monthly.

My money was enough to take care of me and my brother's needs. But then, I had to support Nash Cameron because his parents were poor, and Alpha Oliver Preston made sure that Nash's mother and his father didn't get any job in this pack. They were not allowed to leave the pack either. So it was quite frustrating for them to feed because Nash had three siblings: two sisters and a younger brother.

Nash Cameron was a 28-year-old man, and his younger sisters, Adeline, was 25 years old and mated with two kids, and her younger sister, Caroline, was recently mated and pregnant. However, Nash's younger brother, Ezra, was 15 years old and still in the pack's high school. He was the last child of their parents. So when Nash and I started dating five years ago, I had just graduated from high school and was searching for a job.

It was a sunny afternoon, and I met Nash as he was doing laundry work that morning and going on errands too.

We met at the nearest bus location, and I helped him carry his load. That's when he told me that he likes me and would like to be my friend. I knew about his mother's story, but I didn't know that it was serious.

Nash and I became so close that we hung out together and visited many fun places. We visited the beach, the clubs together until I got a job at the pack's hotel. I was so happy that I shared the good news with Nash, and he begged me to support his dreams of going to the university and that he wanted to study cyber security. That he loves computer science, and his parents couldn't sponsor him. Then I looked at him and helped him, and now, he got mated to another woman. How unfair of the moon goddess to mate my boyfriend to our former Beta's daughter.
