Chapter Nine:

Asher

I quickly stood up from my bed. I staggered but I quickly held a chair nearby.

I didn’t see clearly what she was doing to the food, my vision was just too blurry.

“ What are you even doing in my room? Didn’t I made myself clear the last time?,” I asked

I could see a hint of fear in her eyes. Like she was guilty of something

“ I.. I..” she stuttered.

“ You what??” I barked.

I was enjoying the fact that I’m putting her on her toes. I need to teach her a very good lesson and I’m glad this is working.

“I just came to check up on you,” she said with a nervous smile.

“ And who told you I needed that?” I questioned with a frown over my face.

“ You should be glad I did and not barking like …,” she snickered and folded her arms across her chest.

“ And by the way you still haven’t answered my questions.”

“ Errr… I saw something in the food and I was trying to take it out,” she smiled nervously.

I scoffed,“ When did you become so nice to me.”

“ Don’t expect it next time, because I will leave you at the mercy of anything, I don’t care about you,” she said, with a smirk.

“ And you think I do?” I questioned with a fake laugh.

“ I overheard both of you,” she said.

And that piqued my interest.

“ What did you hear?” I questioned.

“ Well if you are not going to tell me who she is, I will find out about her myself,” she said and started to walk away.

“ And that’s not my business, don’t just do anything stupid.”

“ And if I do?” She asked as she turned to look at me, giving me a sly look.

“ Then you might actually regret it.” I said with disdain.

“ I know what you were trying to do,” I smirked, then pulled her closer,“ You were trying to poison me.”

She gasped,“What? No! That’s such a big fat lie!”

“ Oh goodness, you’re so dramatic, well don’t be scared, I’m not going to tell the pack but. I’m going to deal with you myself,” I said.

“ For something I didn't do?” She questioned, tilting her head to the side.

“ You liar, Come with me,” I said and dragged her by her arms.

I led her to my training ground.

I whistle to the pack guard standing by the door. He came running with my black robe and belt, the belt has my name embroidered on it.

He helped with wearing my robe and he gave me my gloves. Today I will be training with one of the pack guards. This is something I do from time to time to prepare me for any external threats.

I blow a whistle again, and gesture for a pack guard to come.

“Give her the towel and water,” I ordered.

The pack guard passes it to her.

Her face turned into a frown,“What for?”

“After every round of our fight bring him water and you will have to wipe the Alpha’s sweat,” the pack guard said to her.

“ And that's your punishment for trying to…” I started to say.

“ Hey, I know, I will do it,” she chipped in quickly and gave me an intense look.

I smile tightly as I flex my muscles, knowing I have finally put her in her place.

“ I’m sure you have really trained well this time,” I said to my pack guard with a smirk on my face.

“ Let’s see,” he shrugged and cracked his knuckles.

I exchanged a blow that was supposed to land on Daryl’s face but he missed it.

I chuckled,“ it seems you’re getting better this time, proud of you.”

I exchanged another blow and this time it landed on his shoulder.

He exchanged a blow to me and I dodged it by lowering my body.

And with countless blows and misses, round one of our training finally came to an end.

I was expecting that she would come running with water and a towel.

I flicked my gaze over to her, she was staring over another place.

I cleared my throat and she turned her gaze to me.

“ Have you forgotten your job?” I questioned.

She snickered and walked close to me.

She passed me a bottle of water and consciously I let it fall on the floor.

“ Can’t you be obedient for once,” I yelled.

“ it wouldn’t have fallen if your hands were not shaky,” she sneered.

And then she bent down to pick it up. I stepped on her hand.

“ Ouch!” What’s wrong with you?” She yelled.

“ Can you give me the water, do I have to beg for it?” I questioned, stretching forth my hand.

And then she forcefully placed the water on my hand.

“ Wipe my sweat!” I ordered.

She started wiping my neckaggressively.

“What? Do you want to kill me?” I yelled.

“It doesn’t even hurt,” she hissed,“ you’re just a weakling,” she mumbled.

And then we move onto the next round of training.

This time it was just me alone. I have to practice arching.

As usual,the pack guard faced me and stood with the shield.

I whistle to him,“Not you today, give it to her.”

Layla turned to look at me, her mouth wide open, a shocking look on her face.

“You better go do as I say or I will…”

“Don’t, don’t , I will do it,” she sneered.

“Better,” I said.

I held the arrow, my shoulders heightened and my eyes fixed on the red spot on the shield.

First shot and I didn’t miss it. This is a very good start. I said in my mind.

For the rest of the shot I already knew what to do with it. To torment her it is!

The pack guard passes me another arrow. I placed it on the bow.

I shot it and the arrow hung on her hair.

She moved the shield from her face

Her eyes widened in shock.

“ Next time, don’t flinch,” I said with a chuckle.

“ Next time, try not to miss,” she whispered with a glare.
