Chapter Eight:

~Layla~

I rushed into my room, dived into my bed.I shouldn’t be worried about what he just said right?

I don’t have any connections with him, but why does my heart hurt? Why do I feel this physical pain?

I need to do something, I can’t be in here like a slave and allow him to use me just like that.

It was already getting dark and this is just the right timing.

I packed a few clothes in my bag.

“ I will go back to my parents house,” I muttered. Even though I knew that was not as easy as I thought.

I don’t care, I just want to leave this place.

I threw my bag out of the fence and at times without a Number, I tried to climb over the wall.

I exhaled sharply.

“ Oh no no no, I have to leave this place before anyone comes,” I said underneath my breath.

“ And where do you think you’re going?” his baritone voice made me flinched a little, and his Alpha aura frightened me to bow my head subconsciously.

“ Errmm..,” I scratch the back of my head not knowing what to say.

But I found my stance,“ it’s none of your business,” I replied.

“ Come here,” he said, grabbing me by my arm.

“ Let me go! I’m not following you there,” I yelled.

He dragged me further and I tried to release myself from his grip.

“ What are you two doing?”

The Alpha King!!!

Asher released me from his grip immediately

And he quickly wrap his hand over my shoulders, pulling me closer to him.

He chuckled,“ We are just here, having our time.”

“ Well it seemed as if both of you were fighting, are you two fighting?” The Alpha king questioned

We both looked at each other

“No..no, not all,” Asher said.

The Alpha king smiled softly.

“ You don’t have to keep it away from us, it’s normal, your mother and I just few weeks after our mating ceremony we had a big fight but we later own up to our mistakes and apologize to each other,” the Alpha king chuckled.

“ So you two must fight, it’s unavoidable, but try to own up to your mistake and settle it fast, I will take my leave now,” The Alpha king said as he walked away.

“ What is he doing here? , I thought they won’t visit here until weekend,” Asher muttered underneath his breath.

He turned to look at me,“ Now you!, you are going nowhere and it’s final!”

I sat on my bed propping my head with a pillow. My thought deepened as I thought of what to do.

This place feels like I am caged, I can’t just be locked up here with someone that I don’t even have any feelings for. Is this how I will grow old here and die without being loved?

“ Yes,” I snapped my fingers as an idea popped into my brain.

When I was very young I used to watch my father mix different types of herbs for different purpose and I had learnt some few things from him.

I scrambled though my bags.

“ It should be here,” I muttered.

“ Yes!” I fist bumped into the air.

I’m going to use this herbs on him and he wouldn’t know when I will escape this place.

I sent the maids for tea and then I quickly mixed the herbs inside.

I knock gently on his door. The door opens slowly.

“ What?” He questioned , with a grimace on his face.

“ I made you tea, for some peace offering,” I said, trying to fake a smile.

“ I don’t want , what are you trying to do?” He questioned and then he was about to close the door.

“ No wait,” I quickly say,“ it comes from my heart, I know I messed up earlier and I’m just here to apologize.”

“ Hmmn, okay,” he said, and he took the cup from me.

He didn’t even hesitate to drink it.

I watched him intently, like I was studying him as he took a slow long sip.

I felt a leap of joy and a wholesome satisfaction deep within me.

“ Wow, at least you are useful, nice tea,” he tease.

“ Tsk.. what do you mean, I have other abilities, ” I said.

“ Well, thank you for the tea, you can leave now. ”

I nodded.

I went into my room, giddy up and down.

“ Yes! Yes!, ” I fist pump into the air.

“Now I can leave this bondage of a place,” I smiled tightly to myself that my cheek began to hurt.

I went out of my room, this time coast was clear, no pack guard was around that place.

I tried to climb the wall.

“ Ohhh, my Luna, you’re going to hurt yourself,” a voice jolted me out of my mission and I climbed down Immediately.

“ Are you okay?” He asked.

“ Yes, I’m fine ,” I said as I tried to not to look at his face.

“You don’t look okay though,you should rest,” he said and started walking away.

“ Hey come back, ”I ordered.

My gaze lingered around.

“ Please do not tell anyone that you saw me climbing over the wall, ” I said.

“ Even the Al… ”

“ Especially him, ” I said, already knowing who he about to talk about.

He nodded and then walk away.

“ Fuck! ” I muttered kicking the ground forcefully.

Why is everyone ruining my plans!

I went back inside my room, I hope Asher will still be fast asleep. The herbs should be working.

I opened the door gently to peep through his room.

“ Good!” I muttered. He was still fast asleep.

I have to think of another thing.

“ Perfect! ” I snapped my fingers. I knew exactly what I am going to do.

The pack maid lay his food on the table, he was still sleeping and I knew this is just the right time to strike again.

“ You can leave, ” I said to the pack maid and she bow in curtesy before walking away.

I quickly put the herbs in his food, I stirred the herbs into it in a way that won’t be easy to notice. My gaze was diverting to his bed were he was sleeping.

I added more herbs in his food and nodded in satisfaction.

“ Hey! What are you doing with my food and why are you in my room? ”
