Chapter Seven:

~Layla~

Two guards came immediately, they stood at my side.

“ You know you won’t dare tell them to do anything,” I smirked.

“ Watch me then ,” he said , with a scoff

“ Take her and lock her up,” he ordered

I sneered and rolled my eyes at him.

The guards hesitated, their gaze shifting to me and then to Asher. I could see a hint of fear in their eyes.

“ If you allow them take me , then I will say the truth to your parents,” I said

He massaged his temple gently.

“ Take her!” He ordered.

And the guards took me by my arms and pulled me away.

“ Leave me alone,” I yelled as I tried to struggle myself out of their grip.

They took me to a small empty room, it was so small that only my body could fit into it.

I heard thé key turned and I knew they already locked the door.

But what is he trying to do? What about our plans?

I need to find my way out of here, since he won’t be sticking with the plans.

I sat on the floor and buried my face in my palms.seconds to minutes and then hours . Is he really serious with this ?

“ Hey, hey” I heard a whisper behind my back. At first I thought it was my subconsciousness, but I turned to look and someone was by the window.

Her face seemed so familiar , that eyes,the way it lingered on me, reminded me of some familiar gaze.

“ Who are you?” I asked as I stood up to hold the bars of the window.

“ We have met before,” she said, her gaze still intent on me.

“ Here,” she said as she threw a key at me.

I stare at her for a moment, holding the key like it is something I have never seen before.

“ It’s for the door,” she said.

As I walked to the door, I paused and turned back to her again.

“ Why are you here? And how did you know I was here?” I questioned

“ Too many questions , open the door and let’s get out of here, be fast,” she said and shifted her gaze to another direction like she was expecting someone she was hiding from.

I quickly opened the door, my gaze shifted around to see if anyone was watching but to my surprise, no pack guard was on the lookout.

She came to meet me at the front of the door. She took my hands in hers and she narrowed her eyes through the pack yard to see if anyone was there and then we quickly made our way from the pack.

But just as we were about to climb through the pack fence, someone unexpected came.

“ And where are you two heading to?” His deep voice questioned.

Asher? I thought he would be inside .

We turned slowly to look at him.

And when his eyes met with hers, there was some hint of shock in them. It was so expressive that I could not unsee it .

They stare at each other for a while without saying anything.

Something is wrong somewhere!

“ What’s going on here?” I asked, breaking the silence.

“ What’s going on here is that you are breaking pack law, trying to escape ,” Asher said

“ And when you locked me up, what? I questioned.

“ That’s a punishment, because I’m your Alpha and you were rude to me.”

“ Well, you have indeed served the punishment well and I was just coming to free you until …, ” he pointed at her ,“ Came to save you. ”

“ And I wonder what you two have together, that she did that,” he said .

I crossed my arms across my chest“ I don’t even know who she is.”

“ Who are you?” I questioned as I turned to face her.

She turned to look at Asher,shooting him an incredulous stare.

“ This is. Not the plan,” she shook her head slowly and then walked away.

“ Who is she ?” I turned to face Asher.

“It’s none of your business,” he sneered and started walking away.

I quickly followed him from behind . We got into the chamber and sat on the bed.

“From today onwards we are not going to be staying in the same room, I want to have my chamber to myself, ” he said with a cold intent look.

“ What?” I questioned, my mind in total disbelief.

“ You heard me loud and clear!” He said

Not like I care, but this was not the plan and I wondered what had come over him especially after the whole scene outside.

My things were moved from his chamber to my room, the room still wasn’t far from his. It was just a wall sharing both rooms.

I can’t just let him diss me off like that, I am going to ask him for a favor. We must be equal to our deal.

I stormed out of my room, and as I reached outside. I overhead some voices—Asher and that same girl. My instinct told me not to reveal myself and try to hide myself from them, while eavesdropping.

“ Are you out of your mind? What did you think you were doing?” Asher yelled.

“ You wouldn’t do anything to get rid of her, so I have to find my way,” the girl replied.

“ And you think that was the only way, I wonder where you were taking her to?” Asher questioned.

“ I don’t care, as long as I get rid of her!” She yelled.

“ And you think the pack will not go searching for her?” Asher asked.

“ You’re the Alpha, that would have been up to you,” she scoffed.

Asher exhaled sharply, he held her on both shoulders and fixed his gaze to hers.

“ See, I understand your feelings and I want to get rid of her just as much as you don’t want her, but she doesn’t have to be hurt,” He said.

“ But you don’t even feel concerned,” she fakely cried.

“I promised she is nothing to me,” Asher said.

Tears streamed from my eyes and I couldn’t help but sniffle.

“Who’s there?” They both chorused.
