Chapter One

"Stand up and leave, we are done here."

"What? What are you saying?" Maya asked, her eyes wide with shock and surprise. What is he saying right now? She just gave her virginity to him after he told her that she is his mate. Why is he telling her to leave?! Or is he just telling her to clean herself up or what?

He sighed deeply, pushing his silky hair back and little short strands fell to frame his chiselled face, "It's just as you heard. I'm done with you so you should leave, Vivian will be here any minute from now."

"Jared, what are you saying right now! Why should I leave even if Vivian is coming? I'm your mate, you should treat me like one!" Maya yelled, her eyes wide in anger.

"Mate? Even if you are, if I reject you then it should be over right? And you should do the same. You see, Vivian is the only woman I like and you… You were just a spare that I could use because Vivian was angry at me and I wanted to make her jealous." Jared shrugged indifferently. He rolled his eyes when he saw the tears that had started falling from Maya's green orbs. The sadness was overwhelming and she could not breathe.

However, he did not care.

"You… Do you like Vivian? Is this a joke? Do I seem like a joke to you?" Maya asked but when Jared stared at her without saying anything, she chuckled bitterly. He had nothing but indifference in his eyes.

"So, when you said you loved me, you didn't mean it? You just wanted to sleep with me and then break off our bond? How could you be so cruel! I'll never get a mate if you reject me! Jared, you can't do this…" Maya cried out, her nose was already turning red.

"Loved you? Ha… I never loved you. I have always liked Vivian and no one else, Vivian is going to be my mate and no one else. I don't care if you don't find a mate, after all, who would like an orphan who doesn't even have any power to become their mate? Unlike you, Vivian is strong and her family background is strong as well so I wouldn't lose if I mate her. Alright, there's no need to speak so much. Let's break off the bond right now, I can't waste time with you anymore." Jared bit his finger and a pint of blood pooled around his fingers.

Upon seeing his readiness, Maya's heart throbbed. Jared had planned this for a long time, he never wanted her heart, just her body. And now that he has got it, he wants to throw her away.

But… She won't show her pain to him. If she does, he will be very satisfied.

"Okay, since that's what you want, then let's break it off." Maya suddenly said, there was determination in her eyes and the fire that burned sent shivers down Jared's spine.

She was crying seconds before, how come she was able to compose herself very quickly? Anyways, since she readily agreed without him having to threaten her, then it was better. This way, it will be faster and he will go to meet Vivian.

"But, I will be the one to break off the engagement and not you…"

"Are you crazy? If you break it off then…"

"I don't care. I am the one being cheated on and you are the one who cheated, if you don't want me to initiate the break off, then forget about it. You can kill me if you want but remember that if you do, the bond will remain forever and you will never be able to mate Vivian so… Make a choice." Maya smiled, her red eyes and tear streaked face plunging into Jared's heart.

Maya and Vivian were best friends who went to the same school, they had been friends ever since they were little. After they began high school, they met Jared and they all became good friends. Maya had a crush on Jared so she did everything she could do he would notice her, however, Jared liked Vivian. For three years, she had ran after Jared and when he told her that they were mates, she was so happy.

However, she did not imagine that all of this was Jared's plot to get to sleep with her. Nevertheless, he had the upper hand but now, she will be on top.

"You bitch…" Jared mumbled, anger visible in his eyes and Maya laughed, at first glance, one could notice the gleam of happiness in her eyes but upon second look, you could still see the sadness.

"It doesn't matter what you call me. I'll start now, Jared. I, Maya Reynold break this bond and reject Jared Leto as my mate." Maya started, her voice strong and loud. As soon as she said that, something began to glow near her neck. It was the place where Jared would have put his mark.

"I, Jared Leto, accept Maya Reynold's rejection. From now on, we will have nothing to do with each other. Anyone of us that breaks this vow will be killed in a million ways." Jared added in that last part, as if he was scared that Maya would go back on her words.

Smiling bitterly, Maya realised that Jared had never known her. He never knew that type of person that she was and stupidly, she went ahead to give him her virginity.

Jared picked up his jacket and clothes and walked out of the house, leaving Maya inside. Since it was her house, she had nowhere to go so she forced herself to stand up. The sore pain that came from her waist and vagina almost made her stumble a bit and the white liquid that Jared left inside of her coupled with blood flowed down her legs.

Biting her lips, she dragged herself to the bathroom to clean herself up and when she finished, she picked up her phone to dial someone's number. When the person picked up, Maya cleared her throat and said, "Hello?"
