I had no clue Kyle was the male who had figured out how to mask the bears’ scent, but it didn’t surprise me in the least after observing how competent of a healer he was.

Obviously the news he’d been the brains behind the chemical weapon that had allowed the bear shifters to wreak havoc amongst our population wasn’t all sunshine and daisies, but there was a silver lining, irrespective.

Kyle was well acquainted with the inner workings of how the compound operated, so I was convinced he would be able to find a workaround we could use to our advantage. Following, he proved me right when he informed me that all he lacked was a test subject.

I loathed the feeling of emptiness pervading my being when Reese left the room, so I didn’t stick around the vacant office after Ronnie and I had successfully convinced her mate to allow a meeting between her and Kyle.
