"It's your favourite meal," Stella said to Astrophel, who was gutting a skinned hare on another counter beside her.

He only glanced at her without a word, and she pursed her lips, took a clean rag, and lifted the lid of the deep pot where the soup was boiling. She added some spices and stirred the contents.

She nervously glanced at Astrophel from the corner of her eye.

All her efforts to get his attention or start up a meaningful conversation had been to no avail.

He acted as if he wasn't ev

Lycidas opened his eyes and threw his upper arm off his forehead and sat up on the bed. He placed his elbows on his knees and wiped his hands down his face. He glanced out of the window; it was almost dawn, but for whatever reason, sleep had mostly eluded him and he had been restless almost through the night. He would have gone out to the woods to find a serene spot high up in the trees or he would have simply hunted to calm his nerves but he didn't want to leave Theresa all by herself in the house, not with her incessant itching and horniness. He sighed, raked his fingers backward through his dark locks of hair and they fell back into place around his forehead. He stood up and walked out of the room to get some water. Theresa was still asleep on her blanket of fur in the middle of the sitting room floor, and he was about to turn into the kitchen when he halted and frowned. His senses picked up a malevolent presence in the house. Something was wrong. The main door was slightly aja

"Is that the best you can do?!" Claire barked over her shoulder at Andrew who was actually screwing her from behind in an old abandoned shed in the woods. She was leaning against a dusty table, facing the open window which was partially covered with crawling plants. "Can't you go any faster for Hades' sake?!" She slapped his forearm, and he increased the pace of his thrust, still holding her waist."I'm trying my best here, Claire!" He managed to say amidst thrusts. "...and that's the ninth time you are hitting me, so fucking stop doing that!""If you fuck faster than you talk, we would be done by now!" She retorted, her breasts bouncing. She winced and scratched her chest. "Damn! I hate the pre-heat season, and I hate this cursed itch the most!" She grated in irritation. "Makes me feel so uncomfortable in my skin!""...and I always get to do the job for you mostly against my will!" He said in displeasure to her, still thrusting into her."You fool, you should even feel honoured that

  • The Cast-out Half-werewolf Princess    54. The itch!

Two Days Later...Lycidas had barely left the house after the period she had fished, he mostly sat out on the porch watching her work and plant more flowers, and he however stopped destroying her plants or flowers because she had made it a tradition by adding two more to any single one he broke or destroyed, so what was the use of trying to ruin it all if she'd only just double them?He had returned into the house before her and sat in the dining room that afternoon, tapping his fingernails on the table, agitated, and she had stopped to watch him for a brief moment as she was passing by, but she couldn't figure out what he was so mad about. She ignored him and scratched the back of her ear as she walked into the bedroom to have her bath, and when she came back later, dressed in neat clothes, she walked into the kitchen, picked up a basket and was about to go to the front door when his cool voice made her stop."Where are you going?"She half turned and tilted her

  • The Cast-out Half-werewolf Princess    53. Cranky and moody

Lycidas walked into the sitting room and was about going into the kitchen when he noticed the ajar door, then he walked towards it instead. He stopped on the porch and looked left, then right, and there was no one in sight. He lifted his head when he picked up Theresa's scent, and he looked towards the bridge. Theresa was crouched low on the edge, trying to fish by snatching a trout with her hand. Does she have any iota of sense at all? Really, Hands? He shook his head pitifully at her as she continued trying to catch the trout that kept smartly eluded her hands in the water. He folded his arms across his chest and watched, obviously interested in how it would end. Getting frustrated, she began to use both hands, repeatedly plunging her hands into the water whenever a trout swam too close, but they were so fast that she ended up missing all the time.Determined to succeed this time, she braced herself, with her hands up and open to catch a big one which was sl

  • The Cast-out Half-werewolf Princess    52. This is my house!

He woke up late the next morning when the sun was already up and bright, and he stood up and sauntered out of the room. He paused and scanned the sitting room, and was almost sighing aloud in relief that she was finally gone when he saw no sign of her, but just then, he heard some noise from one of the windows in the sitting room. He walked to the window and looked out, his hands on the ledge, and when he still saw no sign of her, he looked down, and saw her squatting just below the window, her hands stained with dirt as she smoothed a small mound of soil around a flower. He frowned now, perplexed. "What are you doing?" She was startled by his voice. She looked up and smiled at him. "Well, good morning to you too!" She said in sarcasm. "What are you doing?" He asked again, impatiently this time. "Well..." She stood up and wiped the perspiration above her lip with her wrist, careful not to stain herself with her dirty hands. "What does it look like? I'm gardening of cours

  • The Cast-out Half-werewolf Princess    51. Get off my bed!

Moments later, all traces of the sun were gone from the sky and night fell and the blanket of stars began to twinkle above. He heard the sound of water in the bathroom and fisted his hand against his mouth when he realized that she was having her bath. Soon, the sound of water stopped and everything was quiet again besides the sound of her soft footsteps going about in the room.He stared down at the cold meal in front of him and his stomach growled. She had been the reason why he had been unable to hunt the stag in the forest, and now, he was hungry and the aroma of the soup that kept traveling up to his nostrils worsened his situation. With his fist still thoughtfully placed against his mouth, he stared down at the spoon which she had placed on the table beside the plate and he tore his eyes away from the food, his anger still apparently stronger than his hunger. After a long while, Theresa sat at the foot of the small bed in the small room that was bright with t

"She's lovely, isn't she?" Alethea crooned as she caressed the baby's cheek with her knuckles. King Adolph nodded trying to mask his wariness.
