Chapter Fifty Five

“You look happy with her. I should meet her someday.” Matthew said.

Elena's smile broadened on her lips as she felt herself easing towards him. She had just opened her mouth to say something when the door opened, and Sarah walked in, halting in her step and looking at both of them before walking towards them with the tray.

“Here.” She said, placing it on Matthew's lap as she took her seat on the other side of the bed.

Elena stood up, meeting Matthew’s eyes before looking at Sarah.

“I’m glad you’re fine. I have to go now.” She said as she walked towards the door.

Her heartbeat increased as she opened the door, shutting it quietly and closely before it went back to its normal rate again. She gulped down, closed her eyes, and leaned on the door. After ensuring she was calm enough, she opened her eyes only to meet the shock of her life.
