Chapter Twenty Eight

“Hey Sarah,” Matthew walked up to her seat, calling her as he stopped in front of her.

“Hi,”

Sarah replied bluntly, not paying him any look.

She was with one girl, probably her friend, but Matthew had never seen the both of them together once.

“Can I talk to her alone for a while?” Matthew said, looking at her friend and smiling awkwardly at her.

The blonde girl eyed him distastefully before turning to look at Sarah, who gave her the cue to leave.

“Three minutes,” she said to him and walked away.

Matthew nodded at her and pulled a chair closer to himself, taking his seat before facing Sarah.

“I…I’ve not seen her here.” He started.

“She’s not in this class,” Sarah retorted, packing her books into her bag without looking at Matthew.

“Oh… okay.” He replied.

The both of them sat in awkward silence after, Matthew watching as she packed her books, and as she zipped up her bag, his mouth suddenly started working again.
