25 - Innocent seductress

Hot blood cascaded through Sly's mien as he fumed. His anger surged like a volcano at the notice of Josephine in his office. Barbara had an apologetic frown on her face. She seemed to fail her first task on her first day.

Josephine's eyes were filled with remorse and bitterness. She had black patches on her cheeks, probably from the slaps from a few days ago. Aside from that, she was shabbily dressed, making her general appearance pathetic.

"Get out!" Sly yelled.

Even a fool, would be termed wise if Josephine had just turned around and left with the fire that consumed every word Sly uttered. Instead, she knelt instantly. "Please Mr. Norman, I deserve your forgiveness because I wasn't the one who hurt her. You can't still be angry at me after all I have suffered in the hands of your guards; Look what they did to me? They've destroyed my future," she cried.  Barbara, who had no ink of the past, had begun to feel remorse but remained in her position, not ut
