Elena's POV

My feet paused and I stared.

Noah stood by the counter, back turned to me, shirt sleeves rolled up, hair tousled like he’d been running a hand through it. His fingers were wrapped around a glass of water, but he wasn’t drinking it. He was just... staring at it.

God, he looked tired.

What was he doing back at this time?

He normally didn't come back this early.

He looked as if he was deep in thought.

This past few days the drug had started working. He forgot little things, and now it was graduating to bigger ones. It was making him go crazy.

I hated seeing him like that... It hurt me, too

'It would all be over soon.' I consoled myself.

Once he had finished his dosage, everything would be fine. He would stop forgetting things. Only his memories for the last few months would be gone.
