Naturally, the first thing I did when I arrived in town was to try and call Toby, but it went straight to answer phone. I texted him a few times and gave him a chance to respond while I went and checked into the hotel I had booked for me and Axl. I figured it was probably best so that if Toby needed time to process everything, then we wouldn’t be crowding him. It was only booked for afew days, but I could always extend our stay if I needed to.
…but hours had passed and he hadn’t even viewed the messages.
What was going on? Was he just not interested in hearing from me anymore? Maybe his choice to not contact me wasn’t for time and space... Was it simply because he didn’t want to?
