“ Your husband's body has been found , he is dead and gone “ the person on the other side of the call told me .

I stood still rooted to that spot trying to understand what I had just heard .

I couldn’t believe it , I was just about to get married yesterday and now I was not , my fiancee was dead , how could he , how could he do that to me .

I couldn’t even look at his parents , the disappointment and sad look on his parents face and the tears that broke out Of his mom's face broke my heart totally .

Ethan was dead and I am now I couldn’t get married to him and there is nothing that I could do about it .

A loud scream tore out of my mouth as I fell to the ground helplessly , my mom and sister grabbed me immediately .

I couldn’t believe it , how could he be dead .

Present Day.

“ baby you have to get dressed and start going , I didn’t link you up with a fine man , just for you to mess it up” my mom's voice broke me out of my thoughts .

I carried my tired body from where I sat .

I didn’t know what to do , I couldn’t just bring myself to do this no matter how much I wanted to do it .

My mom had set me up on a blind date and wanted me to go even though she knew that I wasn’t going to do anything with that person after today .

This is my first blind date and this is the first time that I will be going to see a man after losing my fiance to the cold hands of death five years ago .

I know how much I loved Ethan and couldn’t wait to be his wife , just for that to happen on our wedding day .

The tears slipped out of my eyes , I knew that I was literally done mourning him , but I just can’t help the fact that I was as miserable as fuck .

I knew I had gotten over him and all thanks to my mom who stood behind me all these years and made sure that I never broke down .

Mom wanted me to be happy , I knew it , she wanted me to have a man , after all Ethan's family had moved on so there was literally no reason for me to be stuck here .

I applied the last touch of make up on my face and walked to the mirror .

Looking at my reflection the only thing , could do was smile , I still looked good at 26 .

I am just going on this blind date just to please my mom. I know that she’s doing this for me, even though I didn’t want to go I had to for her sake alone.

I walked out of my room and once I got out, my mom was sitting by the couch close to the TV.

She seemed to notice my presence because she turned to me immediately.

“ you look stunning my dear child and I know that you know it “

“Thanks, Mom, please this should be the last one “ I pleaded with her.

Mom stood up from where she sat and walked up to me and hugged me from behind giving me a kiss on my cheeks.

I nodded without saying a word and walked out of the house.

Sitting alone in a restaurant was the craziest thing I thought my silly ass would ever do.

I had arrived here just as the person said but till now, I couldn’t even catch a glimpse of him.

My patience was already at its peak and if the guy doesn't come here, I am definitely leaving.

I sat still for the next 30 minutes and just as I was about to leave, someone touched my back.

I turned around and there he was standing right behind me.

I pulled his hands off and he smiled and walked up to me and sat right in front of me .

This was the man that my mom had linked me up with.

I wouldn’t deny the fact that he was one hell of a good-looking man even though, I have tried so hard to ignore his features, he had that sweet smile that could melt your heart right away, and his brown eyes and hair, he looked good I must admit.

“ I never wanted to come here and my mom linked me up with you and yet you have the guts to keep me waiting for an hour, that’s not a nice way of meeting someone for the first time “

The man just looked at me and then smiled .

“Sorry, I got something for you because I knew how pissed you will be and I did that as a perfect gentleman.

The man stretched his hands to me and gave me the stuff he had on his hands.

I didn’t take it but instead I stretched my hands forward for a shake .

He also stretched his hands for a shake too .

“ Louis “ he replied with a smile .

Well, it’s a good thing that you thought to compensate me for the time wasted but I won’t be taking that and since you are here, I just wanted my mom to know that I didn’t waste her time, I will be taking my leave now.

The man looked at me surprised , but he covered the looks with a smile .

He put his hands in his pocket and pulled out a card and placed it on the table.

“ You can call me when you are ready , sorry I stressed you out .

I never wanted to take the card but on a second thought , I grabbed it and walked away .

I got into my car and let out a deep breath .

I was finally away from him .

I opened my bag to pick up my keys , but when I raised up my head again , I saw the biggest shock of my life .

Right in front of me was my ex fiancee whom I thought had died .

I didn’t want to think that I was hallucinating , but that was Ethan .

I sat still unable to move a finger and looked at the man as he got into the car , I wasn’t hallucinating , .

How the fuck is this possible , I thought he was dead , how come he is still alive ?
