Chapter 11

"Finally, you made up." Courtney said suddenly and I smiled awkwardly as I scratched the back of my neck. "I thought you went to play with your friends." I said quickly changing the topic.

"I was but I saw you two looking like you were about to leave so I rushed over." she said looking from me to Xavier. "No, we were not." I protested and she shrugged her shoulders and walked off.

I sighed. "So, can I have your contact?" Xavier asked sternly as if no wasn’t an option. It didn’t even sound like a question.

I cringed. “Fuck no.” I said loud enough for him to here. I response, he leaned to whisper in my ear and spoke.

“Would you rather I get it from somewhere else?” he said in a slight whisper and I felt my insides start to boil. Who the fuck does he think he is? He pulled back and didn’t have a change in expression or maybe that mask was hiding his possibly hideous smile.

I held out my hand and he placed his phone on it.

‘You win this time jerk, next time, you’ll see.’

I typed in my number and shoved the phone back in his hand. This time, I’m sure he smirked under that mask.

"Xavier, we need your help." Courtney shouted all the way from the playground and our attention switched to her. I ran frantically fearing that something bad had happened to her.

"What happened?" I asked with alarm and she pointed up in the bush where we saw a ball stuck. "Oh."  I said calming down as I walked towards it and tried to pick it but I couldn’t reach. I felt warmth behind me as Xavier reached for the ball and picked it up.

It kinda caught me off guard so my cheeks reddened because of the close proximity of our bodies. "Here." he said as he gave it back to Courtney who introduced him to her friends as her elder sister's boyfriend, Prince Xavier.

Sadly, I couldn’t correct the toddler bunch since they were already excited that his a prince. He didn’t seem like himself either. He had a way with the toddler, not gonna lie.

Soon, the day broke after Xavier and I watched Courtney and her friends play.

As we were parting ways at the park entrance Xavier leaned into my ear and whispered.

“Sierra, I’ll be back today so don’t you let anyone, lay their hands on you and if you do, I'll know, you’re mine.” He warned.

Normally, anyone would see this as a threat, anyone would be intimidated, and anyone would feel like they have been labeled as property but I saw it as something so so erotic.

The words …of Xavier Kingston.

                                                                                      -Xavier

Just this morning, I talked to Jane about my situation and she told me to talk to her and try to get to know her because most rogues are not allegedly dangerous. I didn’t tell her that I don’t plan on doing too much, instead, I listened to her advice and applied what I saw as helpful.

I also talked to the Gamma who said My mate has the potential to be one of the most superior lunas in history so I must stop at nothing to convince her. There is a slight chance that she might be from the Red night bloodline although that possibility is quite scarce. Knowing that he is the oldest and wisest in the pack, I took his advice. He was more on the objective benefit than the emotional one.

Step one is complete, I have her contact information.

                                                                                 -Sierra.

I tapped my fingers on the surface of the bar table in anxiety.

Strangely, I’m still flustered. His words have played over and over in my head. The events of last night have been lurking in my thoughts. I feel like a real…

Slut.

Those things he did to me, I want him to do it again, I want to do more but… I hate him.

You have to believe me, I hate him, I really do but maybe not in that context. In an enemies-with-benefits sort of way.

“Hello…” Tony waved a hand in front of my face snapping me out of my thoughts.

“Hm..” I hummed in response.

“Why are you so flushed? Are you under the weather or something?” he asked with concern and I only got redder feeling embarrassed by what I was thinking about.

“Call me daddy.”

I slammed my head on the counter and Tony looked at me with confusion and concern.

“Sierra, are you okay?” he asked hesitantly. I put up my thumb as my head remained on the counter hoping it would suck out my naughty thoughts like a pumice stone.

‘Surprise genius, it didn’t work.’

He waddled off to serve the customers and I rested my chin on my hands which were folded on the tabletop. I looked around and counted the bottles lined up on the shelves before me, Out of boredom, I decided to read all their labels.

In my peripheral view, I saw tony walk toward me.

“Miss. Veronica is asking for you.” He said as he wiped a glass and for a split second, I was excited because of some reason.

I made my way to her office and knocked twice before entering.

In the chair was a familiar nest of black hair and ahead of him was an agitated Ms. Veronica. Her scent was all over the place and I think he caught on to it too. Usually, her office reeked of smoke and drinks and I got used to it.

“Good evening Ms. Veronica.” I greeted as I closed the door behind me.

“Sierra, have a seat.” She said not even considering replying to my greeting. Her face was cold and expressionless but her scent was pungent with growing rage.

I know Xavier has a knack for annoying people but what has he done this time?

I looked from her to him and back in confusion. “Sierra, Mr. Kingston here wants to pay you off.” She said barely managing to hold in her frustration. The words registered in my mind and I raised an eyebrow and looked at Xavier.

She then let out a sigh and slid a briefcase of money in front of me.

“Would you like for us to propose a deal?”
