Chapter 7

I was sleeping so soundly today, I felt so good sleeping from 9pm to noon. My peace was interrupted by  a  loud door slam. I groaned as I buried my face deep in my pillow.

Just five more minutes, five more minutes of blissful sleep then you can disturb me.

Small fingers poked my face and I opened my eyes to meet a smiling Courtney. "Wake up big sis, It's already noon."she ran to the curtains and drew them apart.

I groaned because I had no other choice but to wake up. We did our usual morning routine and we went to the living room after breakfast.

We indulged in a steamy game of cards. I had only useless cards in my hand but I wore the best poker face I possibly could.

"Card!" she said as she placed the joker and rejoiced in victory.

Seriously, my six-year-old sister is better than me at cards. "Another game?" she asked excitedly.

"No, I'll lose." I already lost the last six games. Is there anyone in this world with luck worse than mine? No wonder I’m out there finding mates.

"Okay, what do you want to do?" she asked full of energy. "Jungle wars," with those words said, I stood up and walked to my room not wanting to be defeated.

She gripped my leg. "No, Sierra, I'll go easy on you, I promise." she said holding on to my leg as I just dragged her along. I'm tired anyway and I need sleep.

"Okay, I give up, I'll just play single-player mode." she said grumpily going back to the living room and I chuckled at her as I threw myself on my bed to taste sleep once again.

There was a big problem, I couldn't sleep anymore.

Xavier’s head popped into my thoughts all of a sudden. Argh, what's his problem? Does he hate his face? Or maybe he has a skin infection of some sort. Why the fuck does he wear a mask? He's quite the queer fish if you ask me but his scent made my heart throb and his eyes. How could they be so beautiful?

Mine are blue too but his are mega ultra super questionably beautiful, discombobulating, gobsmacked and eccentric blue.

I shook my head side to side trying to get rid of the thoughts of him roaming in my head but it didn't work. It only works in movies.

Fuck!

I felt the part between my legs get wet again.

Calmthefuckdown,Sierra!

I placed my palm on my forehead and let out a sigh.

                                                                             -Xavier

I was up before the sun rose. I took a cold bath and put on a a black longsleeved shirt with black khakhis and darkbrown dress shoes. I brushed my hair and put on my mask.

A familiar young five-year-old boy with blonde hair and smokey green eyes burst through my door. It was Justin, one of the Psi (pups) of the pack.

"Good morning Alpha Xavier! Beta Walter told me to call you to his office." he said with a wide excited grin on his face. Why was he up this early? I glanced at my watch and saw that it was just 6:07 a.m

“Alpha Xavier, why do you like staying up until late on your laptop? Phi (teacher of the pups) Penelope said it's not good for your eyes." he asked and I knelt in front of him and replied.

“Somethings have to be done to keep the pack running.” I raffled his hair then stood up to head downstairs. Before I left, I heard him say.

"You're so cool Alpha Xavier, when I grow up I want to be just like you." he said with a hope full in his gaze. If he knew me personally, he would probably take back his words.

I turned and looked him straight in the eye. "You can be even better." I replied.

"Really?" he said excitedly and ran out of the room shouting.

"Phi Penelope, Xavier said I can be better than.." to some extent, he was like a little brother to me even though he's the son of the Omicron(the lead therapist of the pack), Deshaun.

I got ready for the day and organized notes for today's meeting then sent them to my acting CEO.

The most interesting bit about werewolves is that they are almost always rich but never appear in the open.

Currently, the five most successful top-tier companies are run by the four werewolf packs in the world. I run an electric car business and my father before me ran the business but it was a designer motor vehicle business which I recently promoted to a designer electric sports car business.

That is how alphas are able to provide for their packs which consist of about 300 to 400 members per pack.

But a fact is that real rulers never show themselves in the open so all packs made contracts with a trusted human to run their business for them on the surface as they run it in the shadows.

There are indeed some things that I need to have a look at in person like new designs and prototypes by which I must hide my face as well but that’s not the only reason I wear a mask.

I sat at my desk and looked at the current updates in the alphas community. As usual, all that was there was more work directed at me and King Alpha Xander being an asshole. It ticks me off how he thinks the whole world is his. The only thing I have on the upper hand is my business. It's currently the most successful out of all four of us.

I arrived at Walter’s office and he let me in immediately. Along with the sentinels (Alpha and Luna assistants) and Gammas (oldest and wisest members), we discussed the trade, investments and many other matters concerning the company before heading it over to the acting CEO.

                                                                                     .

                                                                                     .

I was in my room typing out work, making reservations, forwarding phone calls to the sentinels and having Danielle (my personal sentinel) shift my schedule.  I had finished only 20% of the total work over the past month.

The Alpha King Tournament was imminent so a lot of preparations were being made and Alphas were all indulged in their work.

King Alpha Xander found it appropriate to gift me with the most amount of work. We all knew it was because he didn’t want me having time to get properly trained to kick his ass but he’s wrong there. More than anything, I prioritize my physical strength and this time I guaranteed myself and my pack that I’d take back our crown.

The work has been split evenly among the sentinels, beta, and nu (the sentries of the pack resources).

Despite having a pile of work staring at me, my thoughts seem to be fixated on my mate.

I wanted her scent in my nostrils now, her dark blue eyes staring at mine, her skin against mine. The thought of it made my wolf go crazy. I keep sidetracking off work because of her.

I won’t be able to concentrate for much longer if I don’t deal with this. I got lotion from my dresser and headed to the bathroom.

                                                                                           .

                                                                                           .

I grabbed my cape and mask from my closet and then decided to go out for a coffee.

I took a car from the pack garage and drove to the boutique where I switched cars. The boutique, as you guessed it, was owned by the pack and the attendant was an Eta (pack warrior).

After not less than thirty minutes, I pulled up to the place where I get coffee once in a while. Usually, Sentinel Danielle has it delivered to the pack house but I preferred getting it myself once in a while.

I strutted into the small coffee shop with a laptop bag in hand and took my usual seat at the back. It was 9am so most people were office workers getting takeaway and a good number sat at the tables doing office work or just chatting.

I sat on the chair and an attendant approached to take my order. "Dark, no sugar." I ordered and she noted it then proceeded to get my order.

In the meantime, I got out my laptop and did some work.

                                                                                            .

                                                                                            .

I walked on the sidewalk, a coffee in one hand and laptop bag in another. A pair of sunglasses rested on my nose bridge and a mask over my nose and mouth.

I was 6'6. It was quite tall for a human but not out of the norm for an Alpha werewolf.

I got a few glances and whispers.

If I think of it, this is the first time I've walked for no specific reason in a public area.

I stopped for a second suddenly feeling my senses become alert and a beautiful scent goes through my nose.

She derived from the crowd. Her red hair was swept by the wind with sunrays bouncing off some of them, pink tinted glasses resting on her nose bridge, and a buggy white t-shirt that exposed her shoulder paired with black jean shorts that showcased the length of her legs.

Sierra…
