Chapter 6

When the taxi stopped in front of the designated place, the driver looked at the place carefully and asked in surprise, "Ma'am, are you really going to get down here?"

Amelia just nodded her head without answering and got out of the taxi and paid the fare. The taxi driver then looked around again and said, "Ma'am, this is a slum—an unhealthy and unsafe place. Stealing and robbery are very common here. It would not be right for you to go here alone."

Looking at her elegant clothes, the taxi driver could not understand why she wanted to go to this dilapidated slum.

Amelia understanding the taxi driver's concern spoke up reassuringly, "I have an important job here."

Then she entered the slum. As soon as she entered the slum, she got a nasty smell. She put her hand to her nose and kept moving forward, looking around. Outside the slum, small children were playing in their torn clothes. And the people of the slum were busy with various activities.

Amelia saw some people drinking alcohol in some corners of the slum. She understood why the taxi driver was forbidding her to come here alone because the place was actually unsafe.

Seeing her in the slum, everyone in the slum looked at her in surprise. Their expressions made it seem like they were looking at an alien.

Amelia kept moving forward without paying attention to anything and as she moved forward, she came to a stop in front of house number fifty. The condition of the house was very bad. The outer walls were in disrepair.

When she knocked on the painted wooden door, an elderly woman opened it. Seeing a rich lady standing outside the door, the old woman knelt with folded hands and began to plead in a humble voice, "You must have come to see this house to buy it, but I beg you, please do not buy this house. I live here with my two granddaughters. If you buy this house, we will have to live on the street. Believe me, I will pay off all the debts. Give me some time."

Hearing the old woman's trembling voice, Amelia looked inside and saw two girls of 18-19 years old with worn-out bodies looking at her with fearful eyes.

Amelia helped the old woman to stand up and said in a calm voice, "Calm down, I am not here to take your house away from you, I am here to help you."

The old woman looked at her in surprise.

Amelia smiled softly and nodded, the old woman's eyes sparkled with hope. She took Amelia by the hand and led her inside and let her sit on the sofa.

A girl brought a glass of water and placed it on the table. The old woman looked at Amelia and said, "There is nothing in the house to give you except water."

Amelia then placed the shopping bags in her hand on the table and said, "I have bought some things you might need now. There are foods and some clothes here."

Hearing Amelia's words, the old woman's eyes filled with tears. She held Amelia's hands and said in a grateful voice, "You don't know how grateful we are. You are really kind dear. We thought we had no choice but to die."

Amelia then held the old woman's hand tightly and said, "No one can take this house away from you. I will pay off all your debts and make sure that you will not have any financial problems in the future. In return, I need some help."

The old woman asked, "Tell me what you need. How can I help you?"

Amelia then asked the old woman, "Do you know where your son is?"

Hearing her words, the old woman said helplessly, "I don't know where my son is. We haven't heard from him for four years. We don't even know if he's alive or dead. My son's wife has died of grief for my son. I am now living a helpless life with my two granddaughters."

Amelia then said, "Your son is alive." Hearing this, everyone in the room was shocked.

"Where is my son now? Please take me to my son." The old woman requested her.

"Your son is now in jail. Your son did a terrible thing for money and he is now in jail for that crime."

Hearing this, the old woman and her two granddaughters' faces became completely pale.

Amelia then said again, "Your son has done that terrible thing to me. I have lost the most dear person in my life, my son, for your son. And I need your son's help to find my son. I want you to go to your son in jail and tell him about your family's condition. I cannot get your son out of jail but I can financially secure your future along with your two granddaughters. Now tell me, will you help me or will you sit here and wait for death with your two granddaughters?"

Hearing her words, the old woman burst into tears and said, "I understand the pain of losing a child, so I will help you find your child. In return, please save my two granddaughters from that dealer. They are threatening to sell my two granddaughters into prostitution along with selling this house.

"I promise I will not let them do this big dirty thing to you. My lawyer will talk to that dealer today and will pay off all the money you borrowed from him. I will take you to meet your son tomorrow and I have some money here, use this money to buy things for your needs. Very soon my people will come and repair this house and do everything," Amelia said and stood up.

The old woman then said from behind, "On behalf of my son, I apologize to you. I know that the wrong my son did to you is not worthy of forgiveness, so I will not apologize to you. I just pray that you find your son very soon."

Hearing this, Amelia nodded and then slowly left the house. After she came out of the house, she looked at the sky and murmured, "Wait a few days, sweetheart, Mommy will find you very soon."

In a modern mansion in an elite area,

The servants, including the butler, stood outside the door, knocking anxiously. Inside the room was a heart-wrenching scene.

A little boy was sitting under the bed inside the closed room. His eyes closed. He was trembling with fear and biting his lips to prevent tears from falling from his eyes.

He looked as if someone had warned him that if he cried, he would be punished. He bit his lips so hard to hold back the tears that blood was oozing from them.

The little boy looked at the picture lying on the ground, where a mother was hugging her beloved child. Seeing this, the little boy could no longer control himself, he puffed out his lips and started crying.
