CHAPTER 2

MIA'S POV

At age 10

Rushing down the stairs of the packhouse, I skip the last step and fall on the floor. I scrape my elbow but I ignore it. Werewolves have super fast healing. My healing is slower though,so it will take me a few hours instead of minutes like the others.

I guess you can say I am pretty unique. I have brown hair,green eyes and the cutest freckles. I am shorter than other werewolves so they make fun of me. Well they try to, as Ethan always beats them up. I have to stop him from getting into fights over me at school constantly as he is really protective of me.

Embarrassed, I fall again and get up and run into the kitchen, hoping Mrs McCartney has already cooked. She is the pack's chef and I have already made her my honorary grandma.

Reaching the kitchen, I smell all of my favorite food. I rub my tummy just thinking about the amazing food I cannot wait to eat. I am practically drooling as I enter the kitchen to see one of my favorite people.

Mrs McCartney is an older lady with gray curly hair. She is facing the counter but turns when she

hears me run in. Everyone says I am loud and they can easily hear me. Ethan is always so quiet and he says we are yin and yang. Whatever that means.

"Good morning Mia, are you ready to eat?" She asks.

"Yes please! We are going to the park today". I smile and hop on the bar stool.

Mrs McCartney has a huge grin on her face as she hands me a plate of food. I wolf down my plate so fast,I am almost choking when I'm done.

Right when I finish my meal and jump off the stool,my parents show up. My dad gives me a quick hug while my mum pats my head. I hate it, I am not a dog I am a wolf.

"I see you already ate, why don't you go get dressed honey." She smiles down at me.

" Okay mum, I'll be ready soon. I'm so excited!". I shout and run past her.

Hurrying into my room, I go into my closet and pick out a jeans short with a yellow tank top. Since yellow is my favorite color, I try to always have at least one yellow item on me.
