HOW COULD I NOT GET JEALOUS

Irene ignored her and walked up the stairs not wanting to have any conversation with her as she had considered her a lifeless soul.

“ Where do you think you're going to?”. Irene stopped abruptly and looked at Alice by the stair case squinting her eyes meaningfully

“What does it look like?”

“Don't you think we need to talk? or are you going to act like there's nothing to address” Alice said smirking at Irene like one who had won a foreseen battle. Irene glanced at her with dislike and thought that I'll only be nice if she'd give her a piece of her mind.

“What should we talk about..... uhh, that you betrayed me or you were my fiance's Mistress while you pretended to sympathize with me all along”. this time she spoke slightly up angry

“We should talk about how sly you are right, how I took you as family, how we've been friends for almost a decade now and you think this is how you repay me for the good deeds I have done for you”

“ Spare me that statement please, Good deeds you say.... take a look around you, you've always had everything that comes your way, when we were into the acting industry together you always had your ways of outshining me, you had the most amazing fan base while I struggle with mine, you were able to get eyes on you from prominent figures and of all a wonderful fiance that adores you..... How could I not be jealous? huh” she said melancholy.

“ That's why you were set to make me miserable, you told me to leave my career as it's the best for my supposed fiance meanwhile you were plotting all along,I was really blinded all along , you both don't deserve my sympathy”

“ We wouldn't be needing it anyways”

“ You can have him for all I care but you both should watch your back” Irene said sternly one could feel the serious warning from her tone— this word made Alice tremble she knew Irene was not a person who made empty threat.

She continue walking towards her room but then she felt a hand holding her by her wrist preventing her from moving with this she twitched her brows slightly.

“You do not have anything to fight back this time I made sure of it” Alice said with a wicked smile appearing on her face— at that moment Alice rolled down the stairs screaming before Irene could react Robert rushed towards the fallen Alice as he was just coming from the garden and glared at Irene.

“ How could you push a pregnant lady down the stairs?” he yelled at the top of his lungs dialing the family doctor's number

Irene scoffed at the act that was displayed by her ex best friend— she was not amazed but she had really underestimated her.

“So you would believe that I pushed her down the stairs, do I look that petty?”

Robert carried Alice and put her on the couch then walked up to Irene with a pulsating look.

“ if anything happens to Alice or my baby I will not forgive you and I mean it”

“What a vise versa statement, that was suppose to be my line” Irene thought absentmindedly

“Do you understand me?” his voice jolting her from her thought.

“ I didn't do anything to her she decided to fall down the stairs by herself just to frame me — how pathetic” she said rolling her eyes.

“She wouldn't do anything of sort to hurt our child, she doesn't have that kind of heart , you're the one with thoughts like that because I broke up with you, you must be pretty jealous”

Suddenly the doctor walked into the house and observed Alice as at state of emergency, administer some drugs and bandage the wounded areas.

“How is the baby doctor?” Robert asked with his voice filled with panic.

“She and the baby is fine, she just fell unconscious and would wake up soon it's nothing serious, don't be too alarmed just give her the drugs I prescribed and she'll be fine....i'll be leaving” the doctor said packing up his medical kit and headed for the door

“You should thank your heavens that nothing happened to the baby, you would have been in regret by now , but I'll let it slide if you apologize to her when she wakes up”

“Apologize you say?, I will not apologize for what I did not do”

“I know you would be stubborn to listen but I'll only turn a blind eye to what you did today If you apologize sincerely to her”

“I stand on my word that I'm not going to apologize, I am not your puppet ” she said raising her voice slightly

“ Why are you being disobedient, I know you're upset, shocked and frustrated about the whole news that's why you're raising your voice at me but just do as I say and I'll forget about today ” with that he went inside his study room.

Irene went to her room feeling exhausted, she sat on the bed and pondered over what had just happened, she needed to brace up herself for these scheming, shameless couples and she can't continue staying in this house it wasn't safe infact it was never safe since she broke up but she needed to gather up herself and find a place with immediate effect— after a while she went to the kitchen to make a simple snacks for herself. On getting there Alice blocked her path.

“How did you see my act? ” she said sarcastically

“It was great, never taught you would stoop so low to gain attention, it was a flawless act” Irene said clapping ironically

“ You may not admit it but did you see how your fiance.... oops my bad..... my fiance ran to me to help me, it was a great timing I must say”

“ Are you sure he rushed towards you or for the baby's sake?” Irene smirked

“ Seems like you have a lot of work to do cause he kept asking after the baby and not you” with that Irene walked in

“You— ” Alice became speechless and stormed out of the kitchen angrily

Just then a notification pop up which alerted Irene , checking the content she became excited.

“What the...Oh my .......”
