Eva couldn't stop shaking her leg as she sat in the airplane seat. Alana's annoyance grew with every waking second.
"Would you please stop that?!" Alana growled out after not being able to ignore it any longer.
"I'm sorry, it's just I'm so excited!" Eva all but yelled in glee.
"We are going to be landing in 30 minutes" Eva smiled.
Alana was in no mood to be happy. She had been awake for what felt like days when in reality was only around two hours. Alana was not by any means necessarily a morning person. She wasn't one to stay awake at night either.
"Come on Alana, aren't you excited?"
"No, not even a little bit."
"You know you are not a morning person at all. You are so grumpy today." Eva commented as Alana rolled her eyes knowing her best friend couldn't see her.
"I'm not a morning person or a night person. There are a few minutes in the afternoon where I'm a decent person and that's about it." Alana stated gruffly.
Eva chuckled at Alana's statement. She laughed at what her best friend said because it was true. At night time if Alana stayed up too late she would become very sarcastic and in the mornings when she had to wake up early, she was very rude. Either way, Alana was not a very happy person in the mornings or at night.
"You know usually you would be reading a book right now" Antonio spoke as he sat across from them.
The Pack had a private Jet that they used for emergencies and international meetings. The Jet wasn't too big.
There were four seats on the jet facing each other with a small table in between. On one side was a sofa that could accommodate around three to four people. Towards the back of the plane were a couple of things like a room with a large bed, a bathroom, and a small space that had a coffee machine and a small microwave.
The only reason Alana was not laying on the bed was for the simple fact that if she fell asleep again she would only wake up in a worse mood. That and her father had called dibs on the bed. He was currently snoring.
"I found a good book this morning but unfortunately it's not in braille. Mother read me the title and I'm very intrigued by it. But in my rush to get here I left it on the library table." Eva sighed in disappointment.
"What was the title?"
"Vampires and Their Beloveds"
"I'm not Author but I'm pretty sure the book is based on Vampires and their beloveds." Alana snickered out.
"Why do you insist on ruining things with your words?" Eva questioned in annoyance. If she knew how she would roll her eyes at her best friend. Not that it really mattered anyway.
"I'll see if I can find you a braille copy when we land." Eva's father spoke as he smiled at the interaction between best friends.
The women reminded him of Alexandrov and himself when they were younger.
"Thanks, Dad"
"I wouldn't bother, I've read it and it's boring" Alana sighed as she shook her head the Beta.
Antonio simply shot Alana a confused look but refrained from speaking anymore.
Eva tried to relax back into her seat but unfortunately, she couldn't. The more time passed the closer they were to landing. Eva couldn't wait to discover this new place. Although she knew she would never see what it looked like she would at least be able to fill her senses with something new.
Alana looked out the window into the baby-blue sky. It was a beautiful sight. It made you feel like you could fly. If only Eva could see. She would be able to enjoy life the way it was intended.
Earlier when Eva spoke of the book she had discovered Alana tried to rid Eva of thoughts on that book. Alana read that book in high school and knew what it was about. The perks of Vampires and their soulmates, or beloveds as they say.
The book said that if a Vampire suffered from a Disability in any way if they found their Beloved and their Beloved accepted them then the disabled vampire would be able to regain full health during the first bleed.
All Alana had to do was figure out what the hell the first bleed was and how to get Eva a vampire soulmate.
Alana wanted to do this for her best friend. She wanted Eva to be able to see. If Eva had a pureblood Beloved out there he could save her. As long as he accepted her she would regain her eyesight.
The ding of the seatbelt light informed everyone that the captain was about to land the plane. Everyone buckled into their seat belts. Alana made sure Eva was buckled in correctly and smiled as her best friend.
It pained Alana that Eva would never see how beautiful she was. The way her brown hair framed her heart-shaped face. Or the way her green eyes contrasted against her pale skin.
All Alana wanted was to make Eva happy and she knew that if Eva were able to see. Then Eva would be the happiest person in the world.
"Excited?" Alana questioned as she watched Eva turn her head from side to side to listen to the outside world.
"The noise of the plane makes it hard for me to hear anything but I am so happy I finally got to come." Eva smiled.
"Good. Remember that when we actually go to the meeting and all of the guys at hitting on you and driving you crazy." Alana chuckled.
The growl that emanated from Antonio made Eva laugh. He clearly did not appreciate the reminder that Eva would be in a room with countless inmate wolves. Although it was unheard of that a werewolf was mated to a Vampire it was not impossible. Antonio simply prayed that Eva did not end up mated to an Alpha that demanded she move to his pack. He was NOT going to let his baby girl go anywhere.
The turbulence of the plane pulled everyone from their thoughts. Eva held onto her armrest as she felt her whole body shake with the plane. His heartbeat was rising as she had never been in this kind of situation. She didn't want to admit it but it kind of scared her.
Alana placed her hand on Eva's to try and comfort her best friend.
"Relax, it's almost over." She whispered to Eva.
Eva took a deep breath and tried to relax. The turbulence finally stopped and Eva exhaled.
The plane landed and everyone was now calm on the plane. Eva unbuckled her seat belt and stretched as she stood from her chair. She had been sitting so long that her legs felt like jello.
Alana stood up as well and helped Eva out of the plane. When they finally touched the ground Eva took in a deep breath. The smell of wood and pine filled her senses.
"Are we close to a forest?" Eva questioned as she continued to hone her senses of her surroundings.
"Yeah, we have landed close to the forest that surrounds the werewolf castle," Alana commented as she placed a pair of sunglasses over he eyes.
Alana watched as the guards from the castle came and helped them unload their bags. The guards greeted the Alpha and Beta. Some even greeted her but what she couldn't understand was why no one was greeting Eva.
"Hope you had a nice flight" A man spoke out as he walked out of the woods and onto the landing strip.
"My name is Martin Cole. I am the prince of this kingdom." The man smiled as he shot out his hand at Alexandrov.
Eva froze at the sound of the voice. It was deep and somewhat comforting. The smell, however, was what made her stop in her tracks. He smelled like leaves and pine. It was quite nice.
Something inside Eva wanted to reach out and touch the person that was eliminating that strong smell. However, before she could Alana weaved her arm through Eva's and held her back.
Eva's attention was once again on her best friend but she couldn't stop the smell from filling her senses.
"Good Morning Prince Cole, this here is my Beta Antonio, My daughter Alana, and My Beta's daughter Eva," Alexandros spoke as he held out his hand to the prince.
The prince looked at each person and gave a simple nod. That was until he looked at Eva. She was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. She smelled so sweet. It was mesmerizing.
He couldn't help but notice the fact that she had yet to look into his eyes!
"I apologize, she is blind" Antonio spoke up as he took a step in front of his daughter in a protective stance.
The prince simply nodded and tried to keep his mind off of the woman that intrigued him so much. He didn't miss the fact that his wolf was going crazy. She was his mate but she was also a Vampire. A Blind vampire. It was as if something in him switched off. The moon Goddess had given him a defective mate.
The entire ride back to the castle was silent. You could cut the tension with a knife. It was clear to Eva that the Prince could be her mate. She was showing all the symptoms based on all the books she read. What she couldn't understand was the fact that he had yet to say anything. Maybe he wasn't her mate? That still didn't explain how he made her feel just by being close to her. Something was off.Why hadn't he said or done anything? Usually, wolves with higher rankings became much more possessive. Surely if Eva was his mate he would say something... no?Alana knew something was wrong. Sure Eva was shy and everything but she was never this quiet. Alana kept her guard up. She didn't fully trust the prince. He gave her weird vibes.Alana dared not to say anything. No matter how badly she wanted to comment on her best friend's attitude at this moment. She didn't want to draw attention to her best friend. No one could sense Eva's inner turmoil like her mate could. Prince Cole said noth
"Dad Please" Eva whimpered."Beta quiet" Alexandrov commanded."Eva, I will handle this. You are not to question my authority again and next time you try to sever a bond with your family be prepared for the consequence." Alexandrov bit out in anger."Alpha Vasiliev, let the vampire stay here as a maid. I can assure you that she will not be mistreated and we can avoid a war." The King spoke out with a facade of a Calm demeanor. He was seething but he was no fool. The Alpha before him had power that rivaled his own. He had to be smart about how to handle this situation."Will all due respect your Majesty, Go Fuck Yourself" Alexandrov hissed out before turning on his heels and walking out of the throne room with his family.Alexandrov knew very well that he had just declared war on the King but he couldn't let Eva stay in this despicable place any longer. He wasn't going to leave his best friend's daughter to fend for herself against an unreasonable mate.If the prince couldn't see Eva's
"That little shit!" Misty screamed as rage filled her veins.Alana had to explain why they were back earlier than usual to her aunt Misty. Simply because her Uncle Antonio was too afraid to tell her the truth.Eva simply twiddled her thumbs as she could hear Misty throw and break things downstairs. Alana was only halfway into telling Misty and Amelie what had happened at the castle and so far Misty was raging.By the sound of it, Misty had thrown a flower vase at the wall."I'll Kill him," Misty seethed in anger."I. WILL. KILL. HIM""Aunt Misty, I haven't finished" Alana whimpered as she tried to finish telling her the whole thing.Eva sighed and placed a pillow over her head to try and muffle the sounds that came from downstairs. Eva was currently in bed under the covers hiding from the world."HE DID WHAT?!" Misty yelled once again. It was now that Eva had sat up and realized she forgot to tell Alana not to tell her mother that her father had started a war for beating up the prince
Eva sighed and closed her eyes. She let the warmth of the sun kiss her pale skin. Two months had passed since the declaration of war between the Green Forest Pack and the Royal Family. So far Alexandrov was able to gain the alliance of 4 packs. The Red Moon pack, The Blood River Pack, The Wildflower Pack, and a Makeshift pack that called themselves the rogue pack. The rogue pack consisted of more than just werewolves. Under the Alpha’s control were a Demon, a couple of rogue wolves, and two witches. The rogue pack had a female pack alpha. She wasn’t of Alpha blood herself but she was a daughter of a very strong warrior. She was granted the gift to lead in exchange for her wolf. Many didn’t validate the rogue pack as an official pack for the simple fact that a. The Alpha didn’t carry Alpha blood and B. the Alpha couldn’t shift. Alexandrov was currently meeting with the other Alphas to see what the plan was going to be. Alexandrov said they wouldn’t attack the Kingdom just yet but he
|4 Months Later|The snores from Alana filled the room. Eva sat up in her bed. The pads of her fingers glided across the page of the book. One upside to being blind and reading a book? She didn't need light to read. Eva could read in the dark until her heart's content, Aside from Alana's slight snores and the thumping hearts from everyone inside the PackHouse. The night was quite serene.Eva could hear the leaves moving in the wind outside. It was very relaxing. These past four months had been a bit tough on Eva. Often she would find herself thinking about her mate. She wondered if he was okay or if he had eaten. Eva didn't understand why she cared about him. He was awful to her, and the last time she saw him was six months ago.She figured it was the mate bond that had her worried about Prince Cole. She tried her b
The trip back home felt way shorter than the trip to the Rogue pack. Eva continued to lead her team. Only now, her team had grown double in size thanks to the warriors from the rogue pack.Eva couldn't figure out what the play was. Did the King want to attack each pack with such little warriors? The King should know that he would lose. It would have been better to attack one pack at a time, starting with the strongest. As Eva thought about the Kingdom's ultimate plan, the group finally arrived at the Green Forest Pack. Eva met up with Alana, who had stayed behind with some warriors to protect the elders and the children and their mothers who were human."Any news?" Alana questioned with worry as she ran her eyes over Eva to check for any injuries.
When they finally reached the Green Forest Pack, Eva let out a sigh. She was exhausted. She had never felt so exhausted in her life.As they neared the Packhouse, many of the warriors from the rogue pack left and headed home. Eva entered the Packhouse and was quickly bombarded with the smell of breakfast. Bacon, Eggs, Pancakes, coffee, and Toast.Eva ran up to her room and grabbed a change of clothes. She listened for her best friend and smiled as she heard her in the alpha office, speaking with warriors and pack members. It seemed Alana's work was yet to be done.It gave Eva enough time to head to the bathroom and shower. After a quick warm shower, Eva sat on her bed and relaxed. The day was starting, and yet she felt like she needed a long nap.
| On The Jet |“Have you prepared for what you are going to say to the King?” Alana questioned as she crossed one leg over the other and sat back in her seat.“I am going to politely request assistance from them,” Alexandrov said with a smirk.“Dad, that's terrible preparation.” Alan laughs at her father.“I was thinking Eva could speak to the King.” Alexandrov smiled as he looks at the vampire reading a book.“With all due respect Alpha that is a terrible idea!” Eva exclaims as she slams her book close in surprise.“Why not?”“M
