Chapter 26

The sound of music fills the ballroom as the musicians practice their songs. The servants are finishing up the preparations for the upcoming ball. The tables are covered with golden tablecloths. Porcelain plates and expensive glasses are placed on the multiple round tables.

In another room, Eva is being pampered and worked on. Her maids are fixing her hair and doing her makeup as they prepare her for the ball of the year.

“Are you excited, your majesty? This will be the first ball you attend as queen of the Vampires ”, a maid comments as she continues to place polish on Eva’s nails.

“I would rather fight in another war,” Eva mumbles as she chews the inside of her cheek. The nerves are getting the best of her at this moment.

The maid simply chuckles.
