Chapter 27

As the ball continued Sam and Eva greeted the guests. Everyone addressed King Sam and Queen Eva with respect.

Eva couldn't get accustomed to all the formalities that came with being a royal. In many situations, she wanted to be informal but feared being frowned upon by the other high-status vampires.

Sam quickly noticed the change in his beloved. Fearing that she would be overwhelmed he pulled her outside for a breath of fresh air.

“How is my Queen holding up?” Sam teased as he pulled Eva to him.

“Honestly, it's a bit overwhelming” mumbled Eva.

At times like these she wished she was still at the pack house with her family.

Sam placed a gentle kiss on Eva's forehead as reassurance and embraced her.

Eva took in a deep breath and sighed in bliss. Being close to Sam calmed her nerves and eased any tension she had.

The night sky above the happy couple shined with multiple bright stars. All was well in the world at this precise moment as the pair enjoyed each other’s embrace.
