RISSA’S POVWe walked for hours before finally reaching the rogues’ hideout. To be honest, this journey has had a real toll on my feet. At one point, I started wishing there were buses running in the forest. The rogues’ hideout was a cave. There were some personal belongings around the mouth of the cave, showing that there were people living there. “Chain them to the wall.” Ryker ordered. They took us into the cave, and although it was relatively small, it wasn’t entirely dark. Courtesy of the small ray of sunlight coming in through a hole at the other end of the cave. The Iron hooks pinned to the wall, and the big chains on the floor made me to realize that it probably wasn’t the first time they’d kept prisoners here. The chains looked like they had been used a lot, and that information did not sit well with me at all. It gave me goosebumps. What that meant was that Ryker’s threat may not have been entirely a bluff. If they’ve had prisoners here before, it means they definitely had
DRAX’S POVI really thought my wolf would spring up after receiving that hell of a beating from those damn rogues. Surprisingly, he didn’t show up. But I’m very sure he was on the verge of coming out, because I felt really tensed up. I had to try as much as possible to relax and keep myself calm after all that beating, for me not to shift involuntarily. That was why I lowered my head in silence while Rissa was busy interrogating Chad.I was doing breathing exercises and clearing out my head in a bid to lower my blood pressure. In a short while, after Rissa had finished playing her mind games on Chad without any success, Chad left the cave, leaving just the two of us chained inside. The sky had gone dark already, and I began to feel a strange sensation in my mind, like there was another presence inside of me. The feeling wasn’t entirely new, though. It was the same feeling I got right before hearing my wolf’s voice the other night.“Drax!” the familiar voice called inside my head. Imm
RISSA’S POVThe night went by like a hit summer breeze. It definitely wasn’t one of my best nights.I was chained to the wall with cold, hard iron chains. My wrists hurt like hell. The floor was cold and hard. Discomfort was my pillow. My entire body ached like I was trampled on by a thousand elephants.I opened my eyes, and the morning brightness made me squint. The environment was quiet and serene. I looked to my right and noticed Drax hadn’t woken up yet. His head was bowed, and his glistening dark hair covered his eyes.“Drax!” I called to him in a whisper. “Drax!!” I called again. He raised his head slowly, revealing his bloodshot eyes. His face was all sweaty, and you could tell that he had been crying.“Are you alright?” I asked him, feeling concerned. He wasn’t like this last night. The last time we spoke, he said he was hearing voices in his head.Is this a side effect of the voices he heard last night? I was confused.“Talk to me Drax. You’re making me scared. What’s wrong?”
DRAX'S POVImmediately we were free of our bond, we dashed straight into the bushes and ran for our lives, away from the rapid gunfire and brawl going on behind us. The three of us ran speedily without looking back, while the bounty hunters and rogue werewolves murdered themselves."Um, Where exactly are we running to?" Lily asked. She's obviously new to the game, because if she knew how resilient and determined those guys are go kill us, she'd understand that at this point, the destination does not matter as much staying alive. To be fair, her question is not entirely out of place, but sincerely, I have no idea where we're heading to. I don't even know where we are at the moment, because those rogues had obviously taken us off course, and made us lose our sense of geographical orientation."I don't know, just run." Rissa replied her.I see she has gotten the gist. Prior to now, she would be the one asking these questions, but it's good to see her answering them for a change."Oh shit
RISSA'S POV"Drax!" I called out in the morning when I woke up."Help me find him." I tapped on Lily to wake up. She rolled around on the floor and continued sleeping."Come on. We need to find him." I nudged her again."Why do we need to find him? He's a grown man." She said with sleepy eyes."We can't lose him. We need to keep a close eye on him so that we won't lose him Incase he turns into a wolf and goes on a rampage." I explained to her.She seemed reluctant, but she eventually got up and joined me to search. After searching for some time, Lily slowly moved closer to me and whispered in my ear. "Is that what we're looking for?" Lily looked terrified after she peeked behind a bush.I took a peek too and noticed it was Drax's wolf. He must have had a serious morning wood when he woke up today."Quick! Step back. Don't let him see you." I warned Lily. "Don't also make any sudden movements. If he notices us, we're dead." I whispered and stepped back a few steps.Lily matches my ste
DRAX'S POV"I developed Stockholm Syndrome." Lily continued."I stopped seeing him like a threat, and started believing that we were in love. Soon, we found other rogues that were in a similar situation with us, and then we formed a group." She said."So that's why I decided to tag along with you guys." She smiled. "I'm tired of living the same old boring life with Ryker. I want something different."I guess she must not have known that I knew about my uncle's excapades already, courtesy of my wolf's consciousness, Alef. Most of the information she gave about my uncle, my wolf had already told me two nights ago."...and I find traveling with a sexy Alpha to be the right kind of distraction I need right now." She winked at me seductively. I understand that she's naturally a flirty person, perhaps because of all those years she spent servicing Ryker."Can you not do that—please?" I told her with a straight face."What? I'm just kidding with you..." She said, playfully."Well, you're go
DRAX'S POVI quickly pulled the girls out of the open view to the back of the two-storey building."How on earth did they get here before us?" I looked around, and that was when I saw clearly our pictures were all over the town. There was a coffee shop next to the inn building that had glass walls in front of the building. I peeked into the shop and my eye caught the television hanging up on the wall.My heart banged as I saw what was being displayed on the screen. It was the news, and I and Rissa's pictures were boldly plastered on the screen, announcing us as dangerous fugitives. From what was being displayed on the news, it seemed like our bounty had been increased to twenty-five million dollars.I facepalmed as I realized our mistake. How could we have expected to find solace in a land that was also controlled by our enemy? My uncle has monopolized the media, the power... everything. He made the people poor, thereby making himself the richest person around here. So, I'm not surpri
RISSA'S POVAfter paying for the room, Lily and I went up to the room together. We were mostly quiet, as we were yet to establish any common ground between the both of us yet.Or could it be that I don't like her because of her flirty advances towards Drax?Maybe, I truly am in love with Drax and I'm threatened by her...*Thinking face*No, I most definitely am not in love with Drax. But hold on... I think I am.No, I'm not.I am.I'm not.I am.Fine!!! I scolded the voices fighting in my head, as I made one of the beds in the room—in preparation for a long awaited nights rest.I wouldn't say I'm "in-love" with him... He's just like a brother to m—Oh, who am I kidding?!I definitely have feelings for him. I just have to tell myself the truth. But unfortunately, the only person I can tell that truth is myself, and no one else. I can't even think it out loud. I mean, the possibility of that fantasy becoming a reality is extremely slim. It's just not possible.Although we're both rogues
