Marcus looked down at his bouquet of lilac lavender flowers mixed with eucalyptus and baby’s breath in his hand.

He suddenly realized how awful his choice of flowers was.

“You’re here,”

While the head alpha still deliberated within himself about whether he should throw the flowers away or keep them, Giselle’s soft voice rang through the silence of her ward.

Her sudden exclaim got Marcus startled. The head alpha got all abashed.

“Yea-yeah,” Marcus cleared his throat as he answered Giselle.

Giselle was sitting on her bed. Her legs curled up close to her chest, Giselle wrapped her arms around her knees, chin resting upwards, her eyes peering out the sunny window outside.

Although the temperature inside was warm, Marcus still felt oddly cold. He could not find valid reasons to explain the situation. Yet, by the look at how emotionless Giselle was, he suddenly understood why.
