My Perfect Abrupt Marriage
Chapter 7Cardyn'sWhen I was young, I used to imagine how life would have felt like if I were in a Disney movie or land. I imagined it to be perfect, additionally not having to worry about money or something like that. However, as I grew up in a rather humble background, I dare not complain for I knew that's the capacity of my parents and I am just fine with it.Though sometimes it's good to imagine if my life was any different from my current status, I didn't want to leave what I had been accustomed to and be treated as though I was some noble lady like what was happening right now.Awkwardly, I lifted the knife beside the plate with a forced tug of my lips. I internally debated what to cut and eat first as there were a lot of dishes to pick from. In our house, I only got to eat a maximum of three dishes overall including the rice in our bowls. Sometimes, when I eat in a food chain I order a maximum of four different orders and I must eat all of them to prevent wasting anything. This thing rarely happened as I wanted to buy a new house for me and my mother.I didn't want to pretend I knew what to do in this moment but I also didn't want to appear foolish for not knowing.I silently cleared my throat with a furrow of my brows."Here, eat this."Without asking, Daniel handed me his already cut steaks. He even placed an omelet and shrimp on top of the rice. It was as if he was telling me to eat whatever I want without any shame. I gulped my saliva roughly, smiling at him."Thank... you."All of the dishes were mouth-watering, not lying. But I feel like just by seeing them makes me feel for I knew two people wouldn't be able to finish 12 course dishes for a breakfast. Aside from that was the fact that I don't eat breakfast always. I prefer having coffee and dipping bread into it."You can eat whatever you want and if you prefer something, you can always tell the Chef," Daniel told me and added with hesitance, "You don't need to ask foor my permission. You're the madame here."As such, without even taking a bite, he stood up and wiped his mouth after drinking the juice from the glass. I narrwed my eyes, questioning why he seemed disinterested of eating breakfast together with me.In the end, I finished what was in my plate with difficulty and had to leave the table without taking a bite to each of the delicacies for I was already full in my stomach. I stroked my belly feeling like I had eaten more than I should have before opening the door to where I work and nodding to my fellow workers."Manager, you've arrived."I nodded at her, Linda, "Yes. Is something the matter so early in the morning?"She shook her head, "Not really but I just want to ask for your opinion," she offered a hand, leading me to the kitchen, "I have just baked a cake and is decorating it. What could be the best color of it?"I propped my chin on the back of my palm, answering her with a faint smile on my face."It depends on what event you want to do but for me, we can first put into exercise the minimalistic design. For example, in this area, you can place a small circle accompanied with the name of the customer while at the edge would be a ribbon using the color the customer had made. As for the color of the whole cake, let's do it using cream one."Linda grinned widely at me, clapping her hands. "Thank you, Manager! You're really a savior! Thank you so much!"I nodded my head, "An honor to be of help to you, dearie."As soon as I plopped on the soft chair, securing the desk in front of me, a call came to my phone. When I looked at the caller it was none other by my recently wedded best friend, Elena. I smiled before sliding it to answer."Hi, Elena. How is it going there?"I heard her chuckled, ["I just missed you so had to call to know what's happening to you."]I frowned, "What do you mean something happening to me? What could happen to me?"["I heard from Auntie that you got yourself a top-notch boyfriend and is planning to marry each other within two months?"]I almost spit the juice I was drinking and coughed in shame. I wiped the excess juice from my mouth before replying abruptly, "Why are you saying such nonsense? Besides, why would you give me your attention when you should be focused to your husband, hm?"Elena laughed coquettishly, ["Aiya, I feel shy... don't tease me."]So, they have spent a night with passion. I guess my feelings for Wilson wasn't because of admiration but a sense of security and attachment as his long best friend. Since he is now married, it's time to right what's wrong and treat him like a brother."I am not teasing you, you're the one overthinking."["I know, I know. Hm, by the way, I feel like I saw your ex-boyfriend here in Japan."]"My ex-boyfriend? What does that have to do with me?""Well, just saw him punching someone."I furrowed my brows. It was only a few days after that masquerade party and yet he had gone to Japan to have some vacation? He's fast, huh?I scoffed, "It's not like he's one of my business now."["I know, Wilson just told me that you cried nights because of him."]My other hand which was spraying the plants on the table halted. My eyes wavered as if being reminded of the times we were together. I held my breath for a while."... It's fine. Don't concern yourself with him anymore."My Perfect Abrupt Marriage Chapter 8 Cardyn's I don't know why Wilson saw Kurt when I just saw him recently. But well, wealthy people are different. They could fly right now wherever they wanted unlike those who work harder than those who were naturally born with a golden spoon in their mouths. I wonder what I will do once I have a really big cash in my hands. I smiled at my thoughts, dismissing them away and focusing on my work again. My work was peaceful although sometimes, customers were rude. That was occasionally so I hope I won't encounter them today to ruin my mood. Nevertheless, I hope Wilson and Elena are having the best times of their life right now since they’re newly married. I saw Linda come inside with a grin on her face. Truly a lady with both virtue and cuteness. “Linda, you’ve come.” I greeted her to which she waved her hand, quickly waving at me as a greeting. “Manager. You arrived earlier than me today. Did something good happen?” I beamed at her, shrugged m
My Perfect Abrupt Marriage Chapter 9 Cardyn’s Awkwardly, I smiled at her, merely giving a nod of my head. Adapting wouldn’t come overnight or would I be able to get accustomed to this new surrounding so easily. “A-all right,” I glanced at the other maids who bowed at me, “I, I should go and rest for a while.” She grinned at me, “Now I know why Master insisted that we take the most care of you. I finally understand why he did so.” Confused more, I furrowed my brows, “Dan... Daniel ordered so?” She nodded her head vigorously, “Yes, yes. Then I won’t bother you anymore, Madame. I still have a lot of matters to attend to.” Just like that, she again bowed at me and left her way. I heaved a deep sigh, glancing at her each of the stairs I took. Daniel told her to take care of me. What does that mean? Is it some sort of drama-romance where I should be touched and have my heart fluttering over that? Well, maybe it was the unexpected gesture that was thrown at me. Daniel is such an outs
My Perfect Abrupt Marriage Chapter 10 Although it was not my intention to be of burden of him, he still carried me all the way to the dining room, gaining the maids giggly attitude and shyly gazing at us but cannot make a comment on it. He placed me on the chair, while I feel embarrassed. He just carried me but why do I feel so affected? “See how much you troubled me.” he stated. I sighed, “I didn’t ask you to carry me all the way here. Did I?” Daniel shook his head, motioning the head maid to serve our meals. This would be our first dinner together. Well, I don’t know any more since I feel the hungriness taking over my sanity. After the serving, we dug onto our meals. I even almost coughed up the food I took since I continuously chew down on the food had it been not for Daniel for handing me water. I caught my breath, patting my chest, “Thank you.” He shook his head, “I think what you need is a caretaker.” “No need. I was just hungry.” He laughed, “No one will take your food
My Perfect Abrupt Marriage Chapter 11: Sweet Things Doesn’t Last Dalvin smiled at her, shading her from the sun and looking at the vendor, who was cooking her wanted food – sugarcoated potato. He was also quite unsure if he should take a bit since it looked odd and it was his first time smelling this unusual, sweet aroma. For some reason, though, he felt that everything would be fine as long as nothing happened. Last night was an accident and there would be no second time – if ever, he’d slice everyone’s necks. Soon after, the vendor finished cooking thus he handed the sweet potato over Cardyn’s hand with a wide grin. He praised, “You two look perfect for each other. You two are husband and wife, right?” Dalvin unconsciously smiled, “Yes, that’s correct. She’s my wife. Pretty, isn’t she?” The vendor owner merrily laughed at his boldness causing Cardyn to flush and look away in a dash. Not knowing what to do when she was praised like that in front of someone, she only timidly pout
My Perfect Abrupt Marriage Chapter 12: Steals of Kisses Dalvin consciously looked at the back figure of Cardyn, and couldn’t help but overthink what had happened to her while he was out. However, nothing bad could have occurred to her since his guards were beside her – he even commanded them to be seriously guarding her instead of watching like mere onlookers. He released a sigh and then shook his head. His worry wasn’t really necessary in their marriage life. Indeed, it was just a hasty marriage – he wouldn’t need to be concerned about her in every detail. In fact, what he was anxious about was Sofia. She texted him randomly, smiled at him like nothing had happened, and just earlier hugged him. For whatever reason? He inclined on the cushion deeply, pondering about the chances of Sofia still having feelings for him. He was conflicted. It could neither be about Sofia’s unexpected appearance nor the unusual behavior of his wife. He closed his eyes, massaging his temples. Cardyn, on
My Perfect Abrupt Marriage Chapter 13: Odd Why did the honeymoon phase end so fast when she was still savoring every bit of it? Cardyn didn’t know what to do, even her dreams made her feel terrible as they’d repeat a similar thing – Sofia hugging Dalvin, who sweetly smiled at that gesture. Cardyn felt angsty about it. So, what if they had a relationship before? Dalvin is now a married man, her husband to be precise. However, all she felt was the awful feeling of being abandoned. She was constantly being reminded how Kurt used to treat her all gentlemanly until the next second she witnessed him giggling and groping women all he wanted. It could be driven due to desperation and her firm decline of being intimate with him. Even so, she still felt upset by the fact that a man like Dalvin would do likewise. Maybe she had misinterpreted but the fact that Dalvin remained unmoved while Sofia embraced him said otherwise. Dalvin glanced at her, saying. “You can rest first. I’ll go to the co
My Perfect Abrupt MarriageChapter 14: The TwinCardyn looked at her fellow workers who mischievously smiled at her. Which every time they did so, she felt shudder all over her body. As she had been absent for a week, she wasn’t informed or aware of what had occurred. Although, she didn’t know what could have transpired, she wished that it wasn’t about something bad that would ruin her career.Although she was working as a mere worker in this restaurant, the wage is high, and she was doing her job proficiently. Before meeting Dalvin, she was promoted to being the Assistant manager. Occasionally she’d serve customers but most of the times, she’d check the affairs, the menu, place that could give them negative reviews online.“.. Cardyn..” A young lady’s voice came from her back. As she turned around, the girl continued, “There is someone wanting to see you.” The girl was skeptical, while Cardyn looked outside to see whoever wanted to see her. With a simple nod and a smile on her face,
My Perfect Abrupt Marriage Chapter 15: Intentions The weather was nice and amazing. Like normal, Cardyn went to work with a grin on her face. Although she had missed Dalvin’s comforting warmth, she still slept just fine. On the contrary, Dalvin linked his hands, looking at Sofia in bewilderment. With a cold tilt of his head, he coldly asked her, “What is your purpose of coming in here?” She smiled, “I want to take you out to a meal.” She leaned her head forward, hopeful that Dalvin would take her bait. Unfortunately, Dalvin rose from his seat and showed his indifference. Sofia was upset about this but didn’t back down. “Dalvin, I merely just declined your proposal because I wasn’t ready yet. Look, now I returned to you.” “I didn’t want you to come back, as I have said.” Sofia snickered. “I called your mother who seemed dearly missing me for the past years I was gone. You got married while I was finding my intention and what I want in this life. Didn’t you get it?” Dalvin raised
