My Perfect Abrupt Marriage

Chapter 1

Cardyn’s

I facepalmed. Just what the hell did I do last night? Sat on the very-soft-tempting-sofa, comfort was out of the question since I am in a dire situation faced with someone I would never want to make any deal. But…

“Forgot about your husband that fast?”

Crap. Can something hit my head so I can lose all of my memories just like in those dramas and feign ignorance about this man? Or should I call him my husband?

I stared at the registered marriage certificate between me and this man clearly, without a mistake, dumbfoundedly. I clicked my tongue, attempting to look cool.

“I… Sir Manzo, I pray that this is just one of the jokes you like to play?”

He slightly frowned, shaking his head in disagreement. “I’m afraid not. This is a real, legitimate, reliable, and credible marriage certificate between you and me.”

I slapped the table between us in slight anger, “Still!” I huffed, moving my eyes to him, “Last night was just a play.”

He smirked, “It wasn’t for me, unfortunately.”

Wriggling my brows, I could only scoff. Yesterday was my best friends’ wedding – Wilson and Elena. I had admired Wilson since we were young as we were neighbors. As far as I am concerned, in High School, we increased from two friends to three – Elena. My beautiful friend whom I thought was nice. Not until I got to know Wilson was pursuing her.

I never professed my love for him as I feared he’d leave, or I’d ruin our solid friendship. Not that I didn’t expect him to knock on my door and tell me he likes me. The least I wanted for him was to actually marry Elena and create a family with her. But hey, they had just got married yesterday while I, the dumbest of us three, went into a club and drank into my heart’s content.

In the drunkenness spur, I proposed to a man – the man I didn’t know would take my nonsense seriously. What I am concerned about was the fact that we spent the night together and registered our marriage while we were on it. This isn’t a drama, what the hell.

I never done one-night stands thingy. Perhaps it was driven by my sadness and regrets last night that I allowed myself to pounce on this man without any thought.

I clenched my fists, gulping.

“Sir, I… we only had a one-night stand but that was all into it,” I laughed the marriage certificate off as if I didn’t hear him saying it was a real one, “So let’s divorce.”

The man I called Sir Manzo, lifted his brows. He had an unkind expression as if threatening me for my boldness but what else can I do? He’s a freaking CEO, a famous bachelor, and been the talks around the women lately.

He hummed, “You say that we take things slow. Is that it?” His gaze lingered onto me, while I blinked my eyes. I remembered what we did last night I couldn’t be more embarrassed than I was. Never in my life would I think I was proactive, in terms of desires, that is.

I shook my head in response, “Let’s get a divorce.”

He pointed at my stomach, “What if there’s a baby in there?”

I hastily protected my stomach, looking at him in disbelief with a frown.

“We did it only once…”

“Forgetting things? What do you mean once?”

I touched my head. The only thing I want to do now was to get out and leave this place. Being with him for far long is making my skin crawl, causing my mind to divulge what we did last night – passionate and fiery.

I stood up, biting my lower lip. “Let’s divorce, Sir Daniel Manzo.”

“Wife, where are you off to? Your husband is here.”

I stopped on my tracks, facing him who was already taking long strides towards me. I held my breath, looking at him in fascination, reliving how he looked in flushed face, when he groaned against my ears and full of sweat. Before I could lower my head, he had already entrapped me between his arms – his eyes on me to which intimidated me.

He leaned his face near her ears and told her, "Wife, should you leave this mansion again, see to it you won't be able to walk for a week.”

I widened my eyes then stomped onto his feet, resulting him to wince in pain and step back. He groaned, trying to say something but I intervened.

I pointed at him, “I’ll break your feet before you break mine! Adiue!”
