Chapter 3: I Never Lose A War.

"How come they knew of our plans beforehand?"

"I've never suffered so much loss in my entire life Draven." I feel so vexed right now that I could shatter the room, which is just what I do.

Just one roar, one roar from my wolf, Timothy is all it takes to send the awards laying on the wall shelf down.

"You need to calm down Alpha, we can always restrategize and reattack them." Draven the clan's beta and my Bestfriend tries to calm me, but there's nothing his words can do and he knows that much.

"What do you mean calm down?" I don't need a mirror to tell me how reddened my eyes have become and my red eyes is not something others have lived to talk about, except Draven of course.

I do my best to restrain my anger around my bestfriend, but it still leaks out and I swipe the documents and files on my desk down to the ground.

I get a few cuts which heal immediately, but that's not my problem at the moment. I am still puzzled as to how a clan as weak as the Centras managed to get wind of my plan to overthrow them.

"There must be a traitor amongst us." I stomp my feet and grab Draven by his neck.

This time, Tim has taken control of me by, and even though I try to restrain my hands from choking my bestfriend to death.

My anger is unrivalled throughout the whole clan even though our clan tops the list of most aggressive.

"You'll kill me." Draven taps my hand and I retract my nails that have dug into his skin. It is then that I notice his blue face, Tim also becomes self aware and releases his grip leaving Draven to gap like a fish out of water.

"I'm sorry." I apologize after taking deep breaths myself.

"I really didn't mean to, I just." I face palm in shame.

"Wanted me dead right? It's no wonder you are still single. No one can handle your anger." He says, reminding me of my old wound.

"That's because I don't have a mate." I yell at him and Tim bares out his fangs, but I hold back. I can't keep taking everything out on him.

"I'm sorry Draven, you know how I can't control Tim and all about my anger issues."

"Of course, you have an excuse to almost kill your Beta. Excuses upon excuses all of the damn time Seb, take your time to reflect." he eyes me and adjusts his tie.

"At least you didn't die." I tell and he looks at me with an expression I can't discern.

"Why did it have to be a traitor, uhn? It could have been you. For all I know, you're as proud as a peacock and your pride must have clouded your logic." He seems really angry, while I'm trying to keep Tim under control.

"I'm sorry, but I can't let you injure that pride any further, I am sure that there is a traitor in here and I'll find and ruin their lives." I yell at him, but instead, he hissed and turns his back on me.

"You don't do the walking out Draven, I do." I call out after him and jog to catch up with him, but I lose him as I run into a servant.

"Your mother is here with the daughter of the Silver pack's Alpha." He says before hurrying off in the opposite direction. Was that from fear or is he naturally clumsy?' I ask myself as I watch him run into the wall at the end of the hallway.

I should go receive my mother. I occupy my head with these thoughts as I elegantly walk down the spiral stairs and out to the front porch where a maid was helping her out.

Her blonde hair which should naturally repel me because of the dirt spikes my curiosity and I want to do nothing more than have a closer look at her, so I approach her in pretense of welcoming my mother.

"Mother, what brings you by?" I ask as I notice the frekkles on the maid's face. The dark circle and cat-eyes frame showing on her face indicate lack of sleep and that she uses glasses.

She looks so cute and her werewolf scent is also very faint that I almost conclude that she is human.

I let my eyes trail down her face where her perfectly shaped lips pouted from and down to her collar bones which seem hollow from starvation.

Her bad state makes the bells in my head go off and I can feel Timothy's thirst for rage, but my mother's voice manages to calm us both down.

"Your marriage, I brought someone for you." I do not notice the blush that crawls to my face untill my mother points it out.

Mother probably got tired of bringing the elegant ladies since we never get together and has brought a maid for a change and as much as I find this weird, I feel very attracted to her already.

Her white gown though soiled still makes her look like an angel.

I try to maintain eye contact with her, but she keeps averting my gaze and I take it as her being shy. But why does she look so pained?

She keeps squinting her eyes as if to suppress herself from crying out. Her eyes would randomly get glassy but she'll wipe the tears before they fall and that is when I notice it, the blisters on her hand.

Panic overtakes my reasoning and I stretch my hand in hopes that she'll take them. I feel anxiety as I hope that she'll take them, but she is soon dragged from me by another blonde.

Timothy is enraged but I manage to calm him down as I let my gaze focus on the intruder.

From the black roots of her hair, I can tell that she dyed them. Her baked face makes me want to retch, however, her next action almost makes Timothy tear her into pieces.

She grabbed the maid by her arm as if to burst the blisters.

I feel my heart shatter as the gentle maid swallows her tears and obediently follows behind the fake blonde.

"Isn't she such a darling"? My mother has a look of admiration on her face as if she didn't notice what just happened, making my own face fall.

"The maid?" I ask, trying to test the waters, but she has a look of distaste instead.

"She disgusted me throughout the journey, kept whimpering like a wounded kitten. I almost threw her out, but I have a soft spot for the Beta who kept insisting." She stomps her feet and walks into the living room, leaving me behind.

What did she mean disgusted. The maid obviously looks as pure as an angel.

I take my time to think after my mother's back disappeared into the room, until an idea pops up.

I take out my phone and text Draven.

He should have cooled off my now right?

"The maid that came in with my mother.." I pause to think of my next line of action because for the first time in my life, I feel indecisive that I mistakenly press the send button.

So many mistakes in one hour.

"Yes, she's with me right now, how do you want her to die?" He ends his sentence with a knife emoji and I immediately feel my throat tighten.

"Where in the world are you? Don't you dare lay a finger on her." I ask text him and shove my phone back in my pocket and hurry towards the basement. That's his favourite spot so he is most likely there.

"Draven,I didn't say kill her!" I send a punch flying to his face as soon as I open the door.

"Geez, you beast, I didn't kill her, I met her this way."

"What you mean you met her this way." I hurry towards the maid who is gagged and laying on the floor with her hands tied behind her back.

I quickly untie it and the whimpering sound that comes from her throat make me feel a form of urgency I've never felt before.

"Why do you look so petrified, is she the traitor you found out?"

"No, who did this?"

"Chill out man," he says lifting his hands in a surrender because of the daggers I sent him with my eyes.

My wolf, Tim also feels the same way and this is one of those rare times when we are in sync.

"Call the doctor, she's not healing." I lift her in my arms and big her head in my chest when I notice that the blisters in her hands almost have puss instead of them to dry up.

"It hurts." She cries and I transfer my aggression to Draven who has a shocked expression on his face.

"Fucking get the doctor, didn't you hear her? It hurts!" I yell at him.

"Just take her to the hospital or something." He grumbles.

"Get Andrew to my room in 2 minutes or lose your head." He squeezes his face in a frown I head towards my secret room

"Your sacred space?" He asks, but gets my red eyes in return.

"This is all just so weird alright, calm down. I'm not even sure if you're my Bestfriend" He says before jogging out but I hear him say.

"You try to kill your bestfriend an hour ago and save a stranger the next. I don't even know you," but he leaves nonetheless to get Andrew my personal doctor.

He wouldn't want to get choked by Tim again.
