All of them looked at me and I just looked at Sylvester with a stunned expression.

“What he said is true, Adolphus?” Dad asked me in a stern voice.

I slowly looked at him, still trying to process how he related Maddie’s casual remark about the shadow warriors to her being a shadow fighter.

“She…. She mentioned them, Dad. This is true, b… but we all know that her senses are better than even yours and mine. This is not impossible for her to sense them, right?” I tried to find a reason, but I wasn’t confident about what I said.

“I assure you that she is not a shadow fighter, Prince Sylvester. She has always been with any of us.
