16. Pay the price

I tried to pull my hand out of his grasp, but he refused to let me go.

“Kiara,” He spoke in a low tone, “Please, don’t test me. Tell me, who did this to you?”

Unable to look at his furious face, I looked at my feet in hesitance. I did not think it was safe to snitch on Asher to Marcus. The two of them barely got along. If I told Marcus, I was afraid he would do something about it. If not confront Asher directly, he will want to report this to the principal. Unlike other students here, I was studying on a scholarship. Due to which, essentially everything was free for me, starting from tuition to housing.

At the end of the day, Asher was still the Alpha’s son. If I angered them, it would only be a matter of time before they cancel my scholarship. The thought motivated me further to keep my mouth shut.

“Just let it go, Marcus.” I said, and tried to pull my hand away from him. Much to my surprise, he actually let it go.
