17. For the future

The next morning, I awoke earlier than usual, however, I struggled to get out of bed. I dreaded going to school. After everything that happened yesterday, I didn’t know what to expect today. I prayed that Marcus and Asher wouldn’t cross paths, but that was all I could do. Pray. I hated the uncertainty of the situation, and that I was completely powerless against it.

However, one good thing was that we did not have combat class today. Although I was usually eager to meet Marcus, I wanted nothing but to escape his gaze today. Sighing, I got out of the bed when the alarm finally went off. After about an hour, I walked up the stairs of our school and headed to my chemistry.

We had a test today, and due to the commotion yesterday, I didn’t have enough time or energy to spare for the test. However, we were being tested on the module that I was good with, so I didn’t worry too much about it. This has always been the case with me.
