Alexia's POV.

The weather was really hot, I mean clothes sticking on your body kind of hot. How the fuck is it this hot?

I grumbled under my breath as I tried to lift the last box out of the car but the thing wouldn't budge.

"Liam" I called out to my best friend.

"What now Alex?" He called back.

"Come help me with this box please." I pleaded and tried to make my voice sound as sweet as possible.

"Don't use that voice on me Alexia." He scolded and I resisted the urge to laugh.

"Okay but I really need your help with this. The box is really heavy, the damn thing has refused to move." I shouted back.

I was pretty sure that at this rate we were disturbing the really peaceful neighborhood but since nobody has called us out on our extremely loud voices then... We are good.

"Liam." I shouted again when I didn't get any reply from him.

"Shit! Quit shouting already. How the heck is your voice so loud?" He asked suddenly appearing behind me.

I turned around and tried not to swoon at the sight of my best friend of twenty years now. Liam Davis is hot, like jaw-dropping kind of hot. His dirty blonde hair is always styled to perfection and his hair is so soft that I always have to hold myself back from running my hands through it. He has the most perfect face I ever seen, his eyes are extremely dark and mysterious that when you stare at them, they tend to draw you in and it is almost like he can read and see everything going on in my head but I know for a fact that that is not true.

And his lips, those damn thing always haunt me at night. I have always wondered what it would feel like to kiss those lips of his. I always dream of him kissing me all over my body. I wondered what it would feel like if he kissed my neck and then the valley between my breast and he would take my....

Yes, I am very much in love with my best friend, Liam Davis.

I have been in love with him for a long time now or like since forever. I think I was born to love him and only him but unfortunately he doesn't feel the same way about me. At least I think so. He has never looked at me as if he liked me or anything. They are times that he even tell his friends that I am like a sister to him. I always try not to be hurt by his declaration but I just couldn't help it.

But as cliche as this may sound, I believe that one day he will look at me and realize what he has been missing out on. One day he will look at me and realize that he actually feels the same way about me and that we can be more than just best friends.

It always worked out for those girls in the romance novels I read- and maybe write- so why won't it work out for me.

I believe that one day I and Liam will get married and have beautiful kid- a boy and two girls- the boy will look just like him...

Hold your horses, Alexia. What the fuck are you talking about?

"Damn it Alex. Just how many books do you have in this damn box of yours?" He grumbled and lifted the box easily, at least it looked like it was an easy task for him.

"Such a baby. You carried the box inside the car yourself you know and I didn't hear you complaining."I scoffed.

I closed the boot of my car and locked the door before tagging along with him.

He snorted "It wasn't this hot then." He complained.

"Or you are just lazy." I replied smiling smugly.

"Keep that up Alex and I will dump the box right here and you will have to drag it all the way to your apartment." He warned and I chuckled lightly but kept my mouth shut.

I walked ahead of him and opened the door to my apartment for him to come inside. He was going to drop the box in the living room when I screamed.

"To the room." I said.

He shot me the stink eyes but he still listened to me anyway.

Moving out of my parents house wasn't an easy task. It was really hard to convince my mum to let me move out.

I am twenty three for crying out loud and she still insisted that I lived with them until...maybe until I get married.

And I really don't see that happening soon. I mean the man I would love to marry doesn't even feel the same way about me.

I argued with my mum and stood my ground. It was really hard to convince her but I didn't budge.

I have been setting up this apartment for like a week now. The apartment is not really big but it is still decent. All the walls were painted white. It has one bedroom with the bathroom and toilet connected to it. The kitchen is pretty spacious and very clean. The living room is the biggest room in the apartment and I really enjoyed decorating it.

I have my tv hung and my electronics gadget are pretty much set up and all ready to use, courtesy of Liam.

I purchased a set of furnitures and Liam helped with arranging them and getting the best placement. There is a rug and flower vase in the middle of the room.

"All done. I believe you can set up the rest yourself Alexia." Liam said.

I literally swooned when he came out of the room. He has pulled his shirt off and he must have poured water on his face and hair. The water was running down his face and chest and I couldn't help but follow the movement of the water.

Liam is not really built, he doesn't have six packs, he doesn't even have any packs at all. In all the twenty three years of knowing him I have never seen him work out before.

Don't get me wrong. Liam is not fat, he is rather lean and very tall. He doesn't even have an ounce of fat on him. Yeah, he has great metabolism so no matter how much he eats, he never gets fat.

I am totally not jealous of him cause I equally have great metabolism too. I swear I never get fat no matter how much junks I take and that is something because I take a lot of junks.

"Alex, are you even listening to me?" Liam called.

He used a towel to dry his hair and chest before pulling his shirt back on.

"Sorry I zoned out. The heat must be getting to me." I told him.

"No problem. Remember that party that I attended last week." He started.

"Yeah, the one Brandon threw right?" I asked and he nodded his head in confirmation.

"Well, I met this pretty interesting girl..."

Here we go again.

"And we exchanged numbers, we have been chatting steadily for a while now..."

I stilled myself and waited with bated breath for what he was about to say. We have gone through this drill a thousand time now that I already know what he was about to say and how much it was going to affect my stupid heart.

"I asked her out on a date and she said yes." He said smiling brightly.

Okay, that didn't hurt at all.

"Really? When is the date and when do I get to meet her?" I asked sending him a genuine smile.

"The date is tonight and you will meet her soon, promise." He said squeezing my shoulders.

He looked genuinely happy about this whole date thing. Happier than I have ever seen him.

"You look really happy." I told him.

"That is because she is different. She is really pretty and she is just awesome and I like her already." He said and his smile even got brighter if that was even possible with how wide he was smiling.

He likes her. He said he likes her.

I am happy for him but I can't help but be sad because well once again...

Don't go there. Just be happy for him, he is your best friend after all.

"What is her name?" I asked him.

"Akeira."

Even her name sounds pretty.

"Her name is really pretty." I told him.

"I know right. I am really sorry Alexia but I have to go and get ready. I have to pick her..."

"It is fine Liam. Just go, I can handle the rest alone." I told him.

"Are you sure? I can still spare sometime or..."

"Stop it. Now go and get ready and don't forget that you have to give me all the deets when you get back." I told him.

He pulled me into a bone crushing hug before smashing his lips on my cheeks.

"You are the most awesome best friend ever." He said before letting me go.

I gave him a tight smile.

"Save my cookies and don't forget to add extra sugar to mine."

"Yes sir."I mocked.

He laughed "Love you babe and I will see you soon." He called before disappearing from my apartment.

"Love you too Liam..." way more than you can ever imagine.
