Chapter Fourteen

I held Emberly as she cried and fell asleep on my lap. I laid her down and went to the gym to work off my frustrations. Our parents did one thing right in getting this gym built for Emberly and me our freshman year. It would be a pain to go into Lubbock every time we needed to lift weights or, in Emberly's case, run the treadmill. It's now the beginning of September, which means in West Texas, it's still stifling hot most of the time. It sure beats the field house gym, that's for sure, due to the incredible air conditioning system.
