Overcoming Chapter Eleven

"We need to go swimming. This may be our only chance for a while," Derrick said suddenly, out of the blue, while lounging on the couch and watching television.

I turned my head, resting in his lap, and Derrick's fingers stopped kneading my scalp. I furrowed my brows, wondering what had gotten into him. I wonder what caused him to abruptly change his mind about doing pretty much nothing today. I can admit I was growing bored myself. Our Sundays are always packed with activities and spending time with our parents. Derrick and I never have free time just for us, ever. Swimming sounds excellent. However, neither of us has swum in a pool since last Summer. That was a momentous day. Derrick and I fought and then had some fantastic makeup sex in our home gym. It's hard to believe; we went from being enemies to living together and being in a relationship.
