Chapter 10

After discussing each of our problems to one another, Hozumi always the ideas man came up with a plan. A very good plan. We set up the strategies to catch the culprit red handed. I have no idea,why in the world would they do such a thing. I never got on the bad side of the people here well the exception is Sosuke whom at the mean time has an alibi.

Who else would it be. Could it be pure coincidence nevertheless we have to put the plan in action. Feeling uncomfortable l give Hozumi a look and stand up from the ground where we were seating rubbing off the dirty on my clothes. She followed looking far behind me as she say:

"Sakura we have to get back. Like we promised let's meet outside the gate. We will get into it outside here."

"I understand. Thank you for your help."

"You're always welcome."

Having met under the peach tree being watched from the hawk's eye we split each going to our own way. I do not know when it began, being spied on by countless shadows. But we can feel it. Everything we do is being watched. I started to feel it only three days ago when l had told Hozumi what had happened.

Come on we are not a big deal. Two slaves coming together. Sneaking out of the place, fooling around there and there. What more could they be afraid of. It is not like we have power anymore they have stripped us of it and left us as slaves nothing else.

Keeping all of this in thought, l heard torwards the ancient palace bulding that was once used by the last kings. Looking at the grey roof and the red walls l feel somewhat annoyed after all it is all about this place. Where l am held for sins l did not commit.

Living here knowing that these assassins are after our lives they are just keeping us for a purpose and after that no one knows what will happen. Sighing soundly l step inside passing some black figures who were leaping there and there. I increase my pace not wanting to grab their attention.

Nearing his quarters l keep it quiet as l stride to my room. He no longer tolerates the sight of me. It has been a week since, and Yuki-sama is always on the place. She has been some kind of help because she keeps him distracted. And l get to visit Tanaka at the station speaking of him. We get along really well. He has become a close friend who takes me sight seeing around the city. Taking me to the amusement park and normal parks. Going shopping with me. Eating out. Teaching me to drive a car. Taking the train to show me where he learnt. Telling me about himself and his family.

It is like l have known him for years. We also talk on the phone. Sending each other different kind of friendly messages accompanied by emojis that might not be suited in our situation. He is like an angel sent from the heavens.

Tanaka😇 - "Hey girl want to hang out tomorrow."

Me - "Sure Wats up."

Tanaka😇 - "I want to take you out of the city to show you

"outside. We will take the train to show you my hometown. It is close by."

Me - " Really that's awesome. What time"

Tanaka😇 - " The usual sweety pie.👉"

Me - " Ok l will get ready."

After exchanging words together l squeal with happiness as l forget l am not alone here. Realising it l quieten down a little bit. Rampaging in the drawers to get nice clothes.

After all that part of me that wants to look on point did not disappear. That part that worries about looks and what others thing of me did not fade either.

I am still my father's daughter that will never change. Settling on wearing a jean and a blouse l set them aside and lay on my bed before hearing a knock at the door.

Hurrying to open it l saw the red coat flaring with the air and his purple eyes glimming as he locked his gaze at me who fidgeted at once.

" Behave you are making too much noise." He spat as he turned his shoulder length hair falling and following each step he took.

He is so good at ruining my mood. But not today l will get to spend my day tomorrow with Tanaka. I can't wait. Closing the door and laying back on my bed l feel somewhat excited thinking of Tanaka as he put on that smile.

This is my first time getting close to a guy except my cousin and my father. I have never known anyone than them. Now that they are taken away from me l am left with Tanaka.

Feeling my eyes getting heavy with sleep l shut my eyes as series of that night replayed. It always start when screams fill my ears and blood falling making unbearable sounds, darkness dominating the whole sleep.

I always try to let go of all of it but to no avail. I try to not think of it. When l wake l would be back to being me. It is like reality comes back to me when l am asleep. That is when l accept that l am all alone in this world. That l have to survive through this beasty world which l thought was my paradise to which ended to be the road to my demise.

Waking up with a start l run to take a shower and change before preparing to go out. Walking down the stairs on the subway station l spot him waving at me as he came forward.

"Sorry l am late."

"No it's okay. I was just too early." He says as he scratch his neck facing a little bit away from me.

I looked around us to see people getting ready as they saw the big thing rushing torwads where we stood. "Come it is here." Tanaka grabs my hand as we board the train, we take a seat at the far end .

It started moving and all l could think of was me sitting a milimeter away from him. To distract myself l looked out of the window as rice paddles shown at the sides and houses some meters away.

All that mattered is to spend this time with him because who knows l might not get a chance like this ever again.
