My Unofficial Rejection

Raven's POV

I slowly trudged through my normal morning routine, dreading the next part of my day... School... it was probably the worst thing I've ever had to go to.

Maybe I could just skip today; I thought as I looked in the mirror. I think this every morning but as always I knew someone would catch me, they always did.

The same empty and lifeless green eyes stared back at me as I looked in the mirror. My wavy hair stretched down slightly past my shoulders like it always had. My baby fat still hadn't decided to leave my body yet, even though I was already in year 12. As a werewolf baby fat was very rare so I stood out like a sore thumb!

The same hate filled thoughts crossed my mind as I thought about how much I loathed the person that I was looking at. I sighed grabbing my bag, and slowly walked outside.

The halls of my school were crowded, but as usual I felt isolated. I was an outcast because I was made fun of by him. The one guy that everybody followed, because if they didn't he would complain and they would be punished.

As I tried to manoeuvre my way through the crowd ignoring the jokes about me and the sneers, I noticed my brother was standing next to the guys that were laughing at me. He was just like them. He didn't care about me. Not anymore anyway.

I had to take care of myself because my parents went on a mission but never returned, we could only assume they were dead. Suddenly, I was snapped out of my thoughts when I bumped into someone.

Not just anyone. Him.

Zach, the very person who decided to ruin my life. Son of the current Alpha and the most popular boy in school. He wrapped his arms protectively around his girlfriend, Cassidy.

"Careful babe, you might get some kind of disease" he joked.

She laughed and looked at me, "What are you looking at piggy? Goddess only knows how you ended up as a wolf instead of a stupid swine."

"I'm not a pig." I tried to get out, but it only came out as a whisper.

"Excuse me? What was that, pig?" She sneered.

"My name is Raven." Tears welled up in my eyes.

"Well then," Zach started, "If you're a bird, why don't you fly away?" He made a 'shoo' motion with his hands. People within earshot laughed.

"How can you say that to me?" I said choked up, "I'm...your...mate." I hiccupped between each word, making the sentence hard to understand.

"Mates? With you?" He let out a roar of laughter, "Not even in your wildest dreams, piggy." That was it, I'd had enough. Running outside, I was immediately hit with the hot, humid summer air. I dropped all my things and ran as fast as I could to my house. When I reached it, I only cried more.

This was my sad life, my mate, my future Alpha, my bully.

I collapsed on my bed and cried myself to sleep.

When I woke up I heard the front door slam shut and my so called brother calling my name. I got up quickly and ran downstairs. "Why the fuck did you leave school? Goddess grow up you pathetic bitch." He screamed in my face and walked away, "make dinner for 4 tonight, the boys are coming round so make it good." He shouted over his shoulder as he slammed his bedroom door.

That's all I was worth to him, a cook, a cleaner, a slave and occasionally a punching bag if he had been drinking. I made my way into the kitchen and cooked two large lasagnes, knowing what him and his friends were like I knew I had to make enough to feed two families!

When I was done and I had set up the table I  heard laughter fill the hall, I ran outside and went for a run rather then putting up with the comments I would get from him and his friends.

When I got home it must have been around 1am, his friends were gone and he was asleep. I made my way inside and cleaned up the mess in the kitchen and game room, if he came down in the morning to the mess I'd get hit and I knew it wasn't worth it.

After about an hour of cleaning I sighed and made my way to my room, collapsing into my warm bed I fell asleep.
