SELENA

Alpha Severin took me to a small bathroom in a corner of the field.

It was a make-do bathroom, probably for the quick use of the soldiers after their training.

I watched as Alpha Severin threw the wet clothes to the ground and swiftly removed the necklace hanging around his neck. "Hold this." He handed it to me.

The necklace fell into the palm of my hand, and I shivered from the coldness. The pendant of the necklace was a blue crystal that looked ordinary from afar, but on closer notice, it didn't seem so ordinary anymore.

The coldness alone was enough to make me wince, knowing the necklace was anything but ordinary.

Alpha Raviel also had the same. But it was a golden crystal instead, while King Jared's was a violet crystal.

I rubbed my thumb on the crystal, but my thumb seemed to be freezing, and I had to remove it. I felt like I had stayed a bit longer. My thumb might have really frozen.

It was strange.

The seemingly ordinary crystal seemed to hold something seemingly

SELENA"So, what do you plan to do next? Say the word, and I will help you with anything." Nick said eagerly. Though his voice was still hoarse and low from crying, the determination in his eyes couldn't be hidden. I blinked. A small smile played on my lips despite the arching pain in my heart. I took Nick's hand and looked into his golden eyes. "Can you arrange a meeting with Healer Stephanie?" I asked. This was my only hope for now. Nick's expression changed slightly. His hands went cold, and a deep fear emerged within his eyes. "I think you shouldn't see her." He mumbled. A frown formed on my face. "What do you mean?" Nick couldn't be scared for nothing, or could it be that he was scared of the Alphas punishing him if they found out that he helped me meet up with Healer Stephanie? Selene had said it before. The Alphas believed that I wasn't worthy of having Healer Stephanie attend to me. My heart ached at the thought. Even though I knew it wasn't the alphas' fault, my body

SELENARaising my head to look at the face I hadn't seen in more than a month... memories flashed through my head. It was of Nick's coldness. His indifferent attitude as he ordered his men to shove me into the dark room with the corpse. My body trembled slightly, and I took a step backward. Nick stared at me, his hand outstretched, but he never reached me and could only stare. "I'm fine." I coldly replied and turned around to leave. The greenery scent wafted into my nose, slightly comforting but at the same time, reminding me of how far I had walked. I stared at the empty field and suddenly realized that it might be the beta's training field. The urge to stay disappeared, and I decided to leave. However, Nick grabbed my hand, pulling me back. "You're bleeding." His tone sounded a bit guilty. My gaze fell on the wrist he held, and seeing that, he removed his hand and took a step back. "Sorry." He whispered. "I can help you take care of the wound." He proposed. Staring at the

SELENAMy mind remained heavy with thoughts, but my expression had slowly regained calmness. After sitting and thinking alone for hours, my heart had calmed down significantly. The waves in my heart weren't as turbulent as before. Selene had betrayed, and this wasn't the first time. It wasn't the second time either... and surprisingly, it might not be the last time. The present Selene was no longer the sister I used to know. Though I had always tried to accept this fact, this was the first time it seriously dawned on me. The denial had weakened, and at the moment, I knew I either had to do something or I might have to lose my identity forever. That shouldn't happen. Not for any reason, but for Selene to know that betraying our sisterhood was her biggest mistake. Right then, the door creaked, and a figure slowly stepped in. Orchid scent wafted into my nose, and focusing on the figure, I saw rosy cheeks and slightly swollen lips. Bitterness formed in my chest. But my eyes we

SELENAWaking up, my blurry gaze settled on the white ceiling in the room. I wiped my face and tried to stand up. I had no idea who brought me back to the room, but it didn't matter. Looking around, I realised there was no one in the room and a bitter smile formed on my lips. I could remember vividly. The first time I collapsed, Alpha Raviel had taken me to his room to take care of me. The second time, King Jared had taken care of me. But at the moment, I was left alone in the shared room with no one beside me. No healer. No Alpha. No sister. The irony of life stung deeper than I could have ever imagined, and tears welled up in my eyes. With a firm rub, I sucked back the tears and stood up from the bed. My body was weak. Even after a month of rest, I still hadn't regained my earlier strength, and my entire body seemed to ache with each step I took. However, it didn't stop me from pacing around the room. Things had gotten too far; so far that I no longer had control over any

SELENAI knelt in the throne room I hadn't seen in a month, facing the three familiar faces of the Alphas that had appeared in my dreams countless times. Alpha Raviel with his deep golden eyes. His usual indifferent face. Alpha Severin with his dark blue eyes. His arrogant expression on his face. King Jared with his violet eyes. His coldness was palpable as usual. But after a month of battling with the horror and pain of being isolated and cursed, everything seemed to have really changed. Alpha Raviel no longer looked me in the eyes. He no longer looked at me like I mattered, but more like a lowly ant that he could crush at any time. Alpha Severin no longer looked at me with silent confession but with utter contempt and annoyance. At the same time, King Jared's ears no longer turned red even when our eyes met. Right then, it dawned on me that things might never return to the way they once were, and my heart ached terribly. My body weakened, and I almost collapsed. "Selene."

SELENAA month passed by. I sat in bed, staring at my wrist, which had been mapped with a diagonal scar after the injury healed, and a bitter smile formed on my lips. For the past few weeks, I'd been begging the healer to do everything he could, hoping the wound wouldn't scar. But as expected, I was never lucky enough. Right then, the door creaked, attracting my attention. Orchid scent wafted into the room, and my nose twitched. It was Selene again. My eyes snapped in her direction, and anger blared through my eyes for a split second. Heaven knew how many times I had told her to stop using the potion, but she never listened. Her 'a little while' had lasted a month, and there was no progress..."What is it?" I asked coldly. Selene sighed and walked over. "You are still angry." She mentioned. Her tone was soft and surprisingly more mature than ever. These days, she had been trying her best to make me look like a fool I never was. Her words. Her actions. Her movement. They all
