Nora/Camilla’s POVI arrived at home, but I couldn't bring myself to step out of the car. I didn't know how to face those monsters and I feared I might not be able to hide my hatred for them so well. Before leaving the hospital, I had it at the back of my mind to confront them, but then, I realized it wasn't a wise idea. What if they hold me hostage and dump me in a dungeon like my father did back then? What if I never get to find out the truth like I had intended? All I needed was to play along- playing my part as the dense wife while unbeknown to them, I would crush every piece of bones in their bodies. I would find out the truth in my way and make them beg for their lives. I breathe in and out, assuring myself I would be able to pull my stunt through. “Everything will be fine, Nora. You're the Mafia Queen after all,” I braced myself, letting out a deep breath before grabbing my handbag and walking out of the car. It was a Saturday and I knew Steve would be home- along with ‘h
Nora/Camilla’s POV “Mrs. Smith…….. what do you mean by you are the one who kidnapped my daughter?” He asked, his voice trembling with fear evident in his eyes. “I have her- your daughter. But I haven’t touched a strand of her hair yet- just for now. And like I said earlier, how cooperative you are, would determine whether she walks out of where she has been caged alive or dead. Am I understood?” I asked, my voice firm and stern enough to pass my message loud and clear to him. My message that I wasn't there to joke. He nodded his head in acknowledgement. “Now, sit!” I motioned with my finger and immediately, he obliged. “Listen attentively. I have a few questions to ask you and all you have to do is to answer them truthfully. Your failure to say the truth, only means your child would dine with deads.”“No …… No, Mrs. Smith. Please don't do that. She's all I have got. Ask me anything …… anything and I promise to speak nothing but the truth,” he desperately pleaded, getting on his
Nora/Camilla’s POV I sat in that isolate room, resting my back on the wall. Father and Alaric had left and I was there- alone with my haunting and terrifying thoughts. The more I thought about that girl- the more I tried picturing what she looked like, the more tears streamed down my eyes. For ten good years, I had been trying to have a child. I took medications, injections, went through the processes of IVF so many times and opted for surrogacy, just so I could have a child who had my blood running in his veins. I ran around aimlessly, not realizing that my child- my own blood- was wallowing in loneliness, waiting for her mother to come for her. To take her hands, console her when she was sad and wiped away her tears when she cried. While I unknowingly cared for my husband's son which he had with his mistress, my own child was neglected by me. She was yearning for her mother's love- the love I had diverted to my rival’s son. Now, she thought of me to be a betrayal- a wicked
Nora/Camilla’s POV “The one you gave birth to twenty years ago,” he calmly replied, with a smirk on his face. I couldn’t believe my ears- couldn't believe any word that came out of my father’s mouth. I searched his eyes, hoping to see any trace of lies in them, but all I could see was the truth staring right back at me. He was actually telling the truth- he meant every single word he said. “That night twenty years ago when you ran away, you were delivered of your baby girl by your friend, Vanessa. I didn’t know until a few months after, when Vanessa walked into my mansion with your legacy held in her arms. She told me you got taken away by a strange man and left your child in her care. You abandoned your child for a man, Nora,” he said, his voice laced with disgust. My body froze. As much as I wanted to believe his words, I couldn’t bring myself to do so. Abandoned my child? That was something I knew I wouldn’t do no matter what. I shook my head violently in refusal. “N
Camilla’s POV The first thing I felt as soon as my eyes fluttered open was pain. My vision blurred, but slowly the world began to align. I was tied to a chair, in a room which was damp and dusty- an abandoned building to be precise. At first, I couldn’t understand how I got there or why I was there, but when the memories of the man I had seen before darkness enveloped me came rushing to me, everything became clear. Alaric- I whispered underneath my breath. I looked around to see if I would catch sight of him- someone, anyone- but I was all alone. Everywhere was silent and the silence became suffocating for me. I struggled- tried freeing myself, but the rope didn’t budge. I looked around, hoping to see any sharp object I could use in cutting the rope, but everywhere was clean of any object- as if Alaric already knew I would be in dire need of one. Just then, I heard footsteps approaching. Even before the door creaked open, I already knew who it was. I could identify those fo
Camilla’s POV I stirred beneath the sheets- my body shifted, and my eyes fluttered open. My head ached and so did my entire body. The hangover was merciless. I couldn’t bring myself to sit up, but somehow, I managed to do so, with the sheets wrapped around me. I turned to the other side of the bed, hoping to see him, but the space was empty. All that was there was a note- a note that contained a message meant for me. I grabbed the piece of paper, and it read: “Thank you for letting me hold you once again, Nora. Now, it’s time to remember who you are and let your wrath burn the world- without sparing anyone. I will always root for you. See you soon. Your Zaddy.” I stared at the note held in my trembling hands. “Nora?” How did he know my name? “Thank you for letting me hold you once again, Nora,” I read the words again, my brain processing each. “Once again? Does that mean we have met before?” My stomach grumbled as I thought. Only Steve knew my real name. So, how
