Chapter 04

Six pm came far too late. Or maybe it was because I spent most of the time thinking about my outfit if it was good enough. I had changed into my black top and blue Jeans coupled with my Nike sneakers. My heart was thumped hard as my eyes glued to my watch showcasing six on dot. I wasn’t even sure why I agreed in the first place but hopefully it would be fun. I tied my hair into a messy bun before stepping out of the restaurant and voila! There he was leaning on his red Lamborghini Aventador, he was dressed in a red bomber jacket, an ash top and jeans complemented with black Chelsea boots. He waved at me with a tiny smile painting that sexy face of his. I exhaled deeply before proceeding to his side.

“I was certain it was a yes.” He muttered.

“Don’t get too full of yourself, a little spicing to my long day would be much appreciated.”

“I won’t disappoint,”

“So where are we headed?”

“To the bowl, a couple friends invited me over.”

“Alright then,” I smiled and was about to walk over to the other side but he held my right arm. I frowned and he loosened my hair, letting them fall to my shoulders.

“I love them better this way,” he said in a sensual manner, I rolled my eyes before entering through the other side.

“Chocolate?” He offered as I closed the door.

“I didn’t think you would be a fan of one,” I mumbled and he chuckled before I took the bar off his hands. He jeered his car to life and I couldn’t help but smile in admiration.

“I’m jealous of this bad boy though,” I commented. “I love fast cars.”

“We share something in common then,” he trotted faster, flashing me with a proud smile. “Got a couple of them, the Mclaren, Porsche, Ferrari,”

“Don’t make me thirst more please,”

He chuckled.

“You can come over to check them out sometimes,” he stared at me.

“Maybe,” I answered before opening the chocolate. He started playing a song, one that was beautifully familiar. “So what do you do big boy?”

“I do what’s right for a living.” He simply answered like it was nothing.

“Words around say you belong to some kind of gang, you’re quite the dangerous one.”

“Who knows,” he rewarded me with a superficial smile. “Whatever I’m doing, it won’t put you in harm's way.”

I scoffed.

“I already entered harm’s way when I entered this car. I mean you have a girlfriend and it won’t take long before word gets out,”

“We’re just hanging out, Green eyes. You shouldn’t worry about those things.”

“I know, but she wouldn’t think that way.”

“I can handle her.” He stated.

I rolled my eyes before taking another bite of my chocolate. It didn’t take long before we arrived at the bowling alley.

“Heeyyy, thought you wouldn’t show up!” One of his friends blared as we entered, it was Rico, I recognized him.

“Had something to deal with,” Ash responded before giving his friend a brief hug.

“Israel!” He blared

“Hey man!” The other guy smiled before exchanging a brief hug. “Feels good seeing you in a long time.”

“London seems to be treating you well.” He commented and Israel laughed. And then there was a lady, he exchanged fist bumps with. I just stood there watching Ash flow with his friends, almost like he had forgotten me.

“You came with her,” Rico mentioned and they all focused on me.

“This is not Ariel,” the lady muttered.

“Another of your girls huh,” Israel remarked with a slight wriggle.

“Definitely not.” I interjected while Ash frowned at them.

“She’s a friend,” he commented as he came to my side.

“I’m Rico,” his guy waved and I simply flashed them a smile as they introduced themselves.

“Come on, we need to change our shoes,” Ash pulled me away from them.

“Your friends are ‘really’ nice.” I quipped.

“Forgive their attitudes,”

“Nah, it’s apparent you usually invite a lot of your girls to the bowl.” I retorted.

“You’re my first.” He replied while he rented some shoes for us.

“And I certainly won’t be your last,” I quipped.

“Is that a jealous tone?”

“No, it’s just me stating facts. Guys like you are notoriously good at it.” I retorted while I sat on the seat to change into the bowling shoes. He sat beside me.

“Why don’t we make a bet?” He asked and I paused to stare at him. “You win and you will be the last. I win and you owe me a date.”

“The bet favors you both ways,” I scoffed.

“Of course you can change the terms.” He said with so much seriousness.

“I win, and I get the aventador. You win, I owe you a date.” I smirked and he smiled.

“Deal.” He answered and my eyes widened for a split moment. Was he seriously willing to let go of an Aventador over a game of bowling. I was only messing around! I’m a novice at best at bowling but he definitely looked like a pro. We soon started and surprisingly, we were going at a draw and this was our last turn for both of us. But I knew better, throughout the game he was deliberately playing this bad. As much as I liked this guy, I don’t think a date was the best course of action for now. And so I took my bowling ball and with all I had, I aimed for the bowling pins but it only hit a few of them.

“Shit!” I cursed in silence, I glanced at his lane by my left and there he was donning a devilish smile.

“I guess you owe me a date, green eyes.” He commented as he flexed his arms before taking a bowling ball. I rolled my eyes as he played but the ball strayed down the gutter. His friends laughed while he focused on me.

“You purposely did that.” I said while he approached me.

“The aventador is yours.” He brought out the keys.

“No I’m not taking it, I was only joking about the bet.”

“It’s still a bet either way,” he handed me the key but I still refused.

“You didn’t play at your best, I don’t want a gift I don’t deserve.”

He chuckled.

“I’m terrible at bowling,”

“That’s a lie!”

He inched closer so his breaths collided with mine. My heart started racing all over again.

“Then you want the date?” His eyes held mine so deeply that I couldn’t waver from them.

My lips parted but I couldn’t find the right words.

“Ash!!!” Rico yelled and before any of us could react, twelve men with black masks had paraded inside with rifles, all aimed at us. As the next second came, they fired sporadically at us. My breaths left me in a flash as Ash pushed me to the ground.

“Ash!” I gasped as blood seeped down from his right arm to the floor.

“Stay down!” He ordered. He pulled out two hand guns from his back in a flash before facing them. My eyes shut as I clung my arms to my ears hoping the terrifying sounds of bullets and the strong smell of blood would cease! Perhaps it took minutes or seconds, I didn’t know but I glued to the ground till silence dawned.

“Autumn!” He tapped me and only then did my eyes jolt awake. He was bleeding profusely from his right arm, his shirt was also drenched in blood but those men were dead.

“Israel!” Rico cried as he dropped his gun to tend to his injured friend but just one glance and you could tell Israel and the girl were dead. I finally understood what Skye meant that Ash was borderline dangerous!

I could have died!

“We need to get you out of here!” He tried to lift me up but instead he collapsed.

“Ash?” I tapped his cheek but he was barely responding. “Ash!!” I tore his shirt and I saw two bullet holes around his stomach area and one in his chest.

“Shit!! Ash, wake up!!” I screamed but his pulse was receding at an insane rate.

He was going to die at this rate no matter how fast the ambulance came. My wolf was restless and my heart pounded like it was going to explode anytime soon. Several thoughts raked my mind as my hands trembled being coated with his blood.

There was only one way. I looked at Rico who was still battling with his own injuries too. I inhaled deeply before my eyes glowed golden yellow, my fangs bared.

I was definitely going to regret this later.
