Chapter 01

“Phillip is not that guy for me,” Skye mumbled as she slid her ear piece into her white purse.

“But he’s a good guy,” I remarked while I was seated before the mirror, gently combing my long red hair.

“I know,” she rolled her eyes whilst approaching me. “He’s a nerd with a big heart, has a nice smile, he’s financially okay too but then he doesn’t have that spark I’m looking for.” She gestured while I squinted my eyes at her.

“And just what type of spark are you looking for Skye?”

“A touch of wildness, I want a guy that’s wild, risky enough to give me that crazy thrill,” she explained with so much passion that I couldn’t help but chuckle. Skye has never been shy of the fact that she’s always wanted a bad boy but I could never understand her love for them.

“You should stop leading him on then, the poor guy is going to think he can score a chance with you.” I replied while I gently wrapped lipstick around my lips.

“I wish I could but then he’s entertaining in a way, so I’m just gonna keep him till I get bored probably,” she whined and I wriggled my head.

“You know that’s wrong Skye,”

“You know what’s wrong? If you keep on playing with that lipstick we’re gonna be late for class!” She grabbed the lipstick off my hand and tossed it back to the table.

“Hey!”

“You already look pretty enough!” She scorned me while she tossed me my small handbag. “Let’s go!”

“Nice way to dodge the conversation,” I remarked, giving the mirror one last stare. I was donning a red crop top on a pair of Jeans and white sneakers.

“Autumn! We’re late!” She rolled her eyes.

“Still wrong of you Skye,” I taunted before leaving the seat.

“Oh please don’t start with the lecture,” she said in a lazy manner as we stepped out of our apartment. “I wanna enjoy myself as much as possible, not tied down to one ‘nice’ guy looking for some commitment. You should try that too sometimes, stop being the goody girl.” She chirped while we stepped outside.

“Don’t call me that!”

“It’s your first semester in New Falls University, this is the perfect time to be all shades of wild.” She toned in a grand manner.

“I don’t think I can handle your shades of wildness. Besides, I do care about my results.” Yeah, this was my first year as a theater and arts student in the prestigious New Falls University here in New Orleans. One would think what made New Falls pretty interesting was their academic excellence but that was only a tip. They had the hottest people you could dream of, the craziest social life, rising stars, and most importantly, werewolves to which I myself was one. The daughter of an Alpha to be precise. And I made sure that Skye, my human friend, was not aware of this. She was in my department too but a second year. Unlike me, she was the wild one and somehow I found a balance in that.

“Oh please, my first year went pretty well even with the partying and all, you’re going to do just fine!” She clamored while I waved for the oncoming taxi.

“Besides, are you telling me that none of the guys there haven’t swept you off your feet yet?”

“Nope!” I started firmly as we sauntered into the yellow car. “New Falls,” I told the driver.

“What?! That’s a lie, Autumn!”

“I’m serious!”

She chuckled.

“At this point I wonder how bad your taste is,”

“I wonder too,” I chuckled toot but what she didn’t know was that werewolves had mates and I, I hadn’t found mine yet. I just turned twenty one but it was beginning to bother me. Most of my friends back at the Pack had found theirs at eighteen. I thought coming to New Falls would bring a change but so far so good, I haven’t found my soulmate yet. Skye kept yapping about the boys and some party and all I did was hum at least to show interest. Once we arrived at New Falls, we headed to our different classes. I was threading briskly across the slightly busy hallway but then I got a call from my father. I was still pondering on picking it when I suddenly slammed against a hard wall. I yelped while his hands curled around my waist before I could make the fall. A wave of exciting sparks flodded me to the core. My breaths refused to leave my throat as I stared into those bright amber eyes that easily enchanted me, his hair was low and blonde, his tiny smile was the most beautiful I’ve ever seen here in New Falls, and then that silver stud on his right ear complemented this bad boy look.

“Careful darling,” he toned in his silky voice and my skin shuddered as he gently pulled me up, my heart was thumping all over the place. I still couldn’t even process my thoughts, and then there were the students that were looking at us, murmuring.

“Oh my god, it’s Ash Luxton!” I heard one of them say and my eyes further widened. The mighty Ash, one of the hottest boys of New Orleans.

“Are you blind?!” His guard by the left growled but Ash glared at him so he shut his mouth.

“Pick her things,” he ordered and the guard picked my hand bag and phone across the floor.

“I’m sorry,” I finally spilled but his hand still remained on my waist and I loved it. Strangely, I wanted to be even closer to him, my wolf was even restless.

“I wasn’t looking—“

“It’s fine.” He responded. “I wasn’t looking too.”

“Boss,” the guard handed him my bag and phone.

“Here you go,” he handed them to me carefully while he held my gaze so I couldn’t waver from his.

“Thank you,” I whispered and then cleared my throat, only then did he pull away from me.

“I’ll see your around, green eyes.” He winked and I smiled curtly before leaving. As I headed to my class, I could feel their gazes on me, my breaths were touring out like they were going to fail me soon.

“You’re late miss Autumn,” Professor Hart blurted as I sauntered into his class.

“I’m sorry, Professor.” That was all I could bring myself to say at the moment. He nodded and I quickly took my seat at the middle. I didn’t know why I was feeling this restless. This wasn’t the first time I came across someone that handsome but why was his different. I could still remember his soft touch, his honey scent that drove me nuts.

I was still lost in that thought until my Wolf started pestering me again.

“Morning Professor!” His voice chorused and I lost my breaths again. There he was before the class with his two guards. He was incredibly sexy in his grey shirt complemented with a pair of jeans and a boot.

“Ash—, to what do I owe this visit?” Professor Hart stuttered in fear. No doubt, the two of them had history for my Professor to be this jittery.

“Oh I’m not here for you,” he donned a superficial smile. “I’m actually here for Green eyes,”

“Green eyes?” The Professor queried while the class had descended into a murmur.

“I believe she’s a student of your class, oh there she is,” his smile deepened as our eyes bonded. Everyone suddenly focused on me and my body stiffened. He walked up to me and I could clearly see the wolf face tattoo inscribed on his left chest.

“Hey,” he raised his eyebrows briefly. I gulped down my saliva, feeling another wave of sparks tour my veins. “You forgot this,” he placed my student ID card on my table. “I must say,” he leaned his face closer to mine with a devilish smile. “You have lovely eyes, Autumn Ivanka. We should hang sometimes,” he heaved a light sigh before walking down only then did I find my breaths.

“Green eyes ia a bright girl, I’m sure she’s getting an A in your course. Am I right, professor?” He told the Professor but I could definitely read the threat in his tone. The professor mustn’t dare to fail me.

“O-f course,” he stammered before Ash headed out with his guards. The class was still overridden with shock and their gazes on me. Just how famous and powerful was this Ash to command this much attention? And was I this way with him?!

As I took my ID card, ther was a note under it. Call me, it said with his number there. My eyes exclaimed as the most obvious answer blared in my mind.
