“Sir, your wife is working at Flemch Enterprise as a programmer.” Joel held a file, but he wasn’t looking at it. “I was informed that Flemch had a massive breach in their security from rival groups, but whenever their programmers tend to fix it; it reappears worst than the previous. They couldn’t identity where exactly the breach was coming for. I think Mrs. Grimm was employed for that purpose.”

Nick nodded, lifting his gaze away from his laptop. This morning, he had sneaked back to Nita’s hotel, and fortunately he had seen his son walking out with the same man he had seen with Nita. He had stolen a shot of him and was gazing at it before Joel walked in to inform him about his wife. He needed ways to get closer to his son before revealing his identity, but he had no idea how he would achieve that.

He needed to gain his trust to make it easy to win his son.

He raised his brow, “Nita is a programmer.”

He had no idea she was. He wished he had paid more attention to her interest when they were together, but it seem like it was too late. She had moved on.

Joel nodded, “Yes, sir. But, according to some of the workers at Flemch, she is a mediocre. Just a decoration until Cyborg is found.”

When Joel glanced at his boss again, his nose flared in anger. Joel had to step back. He had no idea what he had said to warrant his boss anger all of a sudden.

“Who dare call her a mediocre?”

Joel avoided his gaze, but had no response to the question. It was a rumor that was flying around at the company. He had only relay what he had heard.

Nick shut his laptop and picked up his phone. He typed on it aggressively before dropping it back. Soon, his cell phone started ringing.

He stared at it. Carl Kings of Flemch was calling him.

He intended on ignoring him, as he had passed his message across via text, but he needed to let him know it was important, so he picked up.

The other man tone was low as if he was calling from somewhere secretive, “Hello, Mr. Grimm. I received your message but I don’t seem to follow through. What do you mean your wife is working in my organization?”

As long as Carl was concerned, the last staff he had employed was Cyborg. And there was no way she could be Nick’s wife. He had no idea the guy was married.

Nick frowned. Was it that hard to detect?

“You recently employed a programmer and I heard rumors she’s referred to as mediocre. If you don’t want your company to be history, I suggest your caution your employees.”

Carl got the message; clear.  He knew Nick was also searching for Cyborg, so why didn’t he know his wife was her.

Was she keeping her identity from her family?

He knew it was none of his business so he heed to Nick’s warning and hung up. If he hadn’t signed a contract to never expose her identity under no circumstances, he might have been willing to tell Nick she was Cyborg.

Who dare referred to her as Mediocre?

Nick sighed when he placed the phone down. He might no longer be with Nita, but she’s still legally his wife under the law, and his to protect, legally.

He dismissed Joel and got to work.

As soon as it was noon, he called Joel back.

“I need information on my son’s school.”

Joel nodded, giving him the information immediately. He had researched ahead as he had for-tell his boss would want to know about his son.

As soon as he got the information, he headed towards a mall. The place was filled with others, and it was the first time he was shopping in a crowded place. Most of his shopping was done by his helps, but he needed to do this himself. It was his first gift to his son.

Nick filled the cart with random things. He had no idea exactly what a little guy would need, but he had gotten everything he thinks would entice him. With how filled up his cart was, some stared at him strangely, but all he could think of was seeing his son.

He loaded the goods in his car, and drove to the destination Joel had given him. He sat in his car waiting for Nate to come out. He smiled as he realized his name also started with letter, ‘N’. Their names all started with letter, ‘N’.

Nick shifted in his seat. He had been sitting for ten minutes and there was no sign of the children coming out.

Nick picked up his phone to attend to some things. It was his first time waiting on someone; people always do the waiting for him. He had never had a reason to wait expect when he realized Nita was gone and pregnant.

Soon, he heard cars coming in, and lifted his head up. He saw the same guy that was with Nick earlier in the morning drop from his car, and took long strides towards the building. Soon, he came out with the boy.

Nick frowned. He hadn’t calculated the fact that he might be the one to pick the boy up. But he needed to make contact with his son today.

He dropped from his car and moved towards them while holding some of the goodies in his pocket. He strode as if he wanted to come pick his child up, too, but as soon as he came closer to them, he dropped a bar of chocolate on the floor.

Nate saw it and called his attention to what he had dropped.

Nick stopped, his eyes widening in feign surprise. “Thank you.” He picked the bar of chocolate. “Please, wait. Take this.”

Jimmy’s eyes flashed, “Thank you, Mister, but you don’t have to worry.”

Nick shook his head, resisting his urge to tell him, ‘fuck you.’ He forced a smile towards the man even though it was all teeth, “I love it when I see smart children.”

Nate beamed at the compliment. “Thanks, but I can’t collect that mister.”

Jimmy nodded, moving the boy along.

Nick cursed underneath before stopping them again, “How about I know your name?”

Nate smiled. “It’s Nate Green.”

Nick sneered at the last name.

“It’s nice to meet you, Nate. I’m Nick. I hope we can be friends if we meet again.”

Nate nodded.

Nick smiled. He knew they would surely meet again.

“How come there’s no information on the bastard who sent me that text?” Nick roared at his assistant. Joel stepped back, hoping to avoid whatever his boss might throw next. He had never seen Nick in this kind of mood before – it was shocking. Nick slowly inhaled and exhaled before turning to face him, “Do whatever it takes. I want to know who this person is. I told you before – I want the best on this job.”Joel nodded quickly, “Of course, Sir. I’ll bring positive response.”He scurried out of the office before Nick’s temper exploded any further. Nick watched Joel gently close the door, then sank into his chair. This was the first time Joel had ever delayed delivering on a job – it had never happened before. Joel was the fastest assistant he’d ever had, which was why he’d kept him for so long. If even Joel was struggling to find this person, then whoever they were, they were deeply hidden. He picked up his phone and dialed a number. The call was picked up immediately. “Hello, Nic

  • Nita's Revenge   Thirty

It was difficult for Nick to get a good night sleep; the fact that his family was just few rooms away from him, and he couldn’t hold them made him sigh. Normally, he found it hard to sleep, but at that moment, it seemed more difficult to sleep.Instead of trying to sleep, he picked up his laptop. Just then an email dropped in his inbox. Joel had sent every piece of information on Sam Moore. Nick took his time devouring the information. There was nothing special about Sam Moore: he was just like the regular asshole Nick had dealt with in the past. Nita wasn’t the first girl he had tried to deceive, but she was the last he could. If not for the text message he had received, he would have easily thought Sam was just unfortunate. But he knew that wasn’t the case. Someone had murdered Sam intentionally, and it was because of Nita. He closed his laptop running his hand through his hair. Joel was yet to send anything about the person who had sent him the message, which means the person was

“I want the best on this.” Nick’s voice stayed harsh even though he didn’t mean for it to be. He clenched and unclenched his fist. There were hardly things that could get him easily upset, but this did. The idea that someone out there had the audacity to threaten him to stay away from his wife didn’t sit right, What made it worse was the fact that this person had access to his private number. He could count the number of people who had his private number. So, whoever this was. The person was highly informed. He picked his phone to read the text again. STAY AWAY FROM NITA OR YOU’LL END UP LIKE SAM MOORE.He sighed. He knew who Sam Moore was: it was that fool that thought he could blackmail Nita and had ended up getting himself killed. Nick chuckled. Whoever sent this wasn’t just issuing a threat – they were promising death. If the person thought he was powerful enough to kill him, then he had to be one of the best at what he does. “You don’t need to waste resources searching low

“He doesn’t eat carrot.” Nita said, picking out the orange pieces in Nate’s food.Nick chuckled as he opened his own plate. “I don’t eat carrot either.” He showed his food to Nita and she scowled.“I thought vegetables were good for his growth, which was why I asked them to add some to his.”Nita frowned. She had learned too late that Nate was allergic to carrots. She didn’t have allergies, so she had wondered why her son had one – until she was able to learn that he took after his father. That sucked. The last thing she wanted was to acknowledge Nick as his father not to talk of inheriting anything from him.Nick smiled, “I’ll ring one of the maids to bring another meal for him. You don’t have to remove the carrots.” Before she could protest, he was already on the phone. Nita hated how quickly things happened at his command. More than that, she hated that he was making an effort to look good in front of their son. What happened to his carefree attitude? What happened to when he prefe

She hated him. She hated him with all her being. If he thought he could waltz in and out of their lives at his own convenience, then he must be joking. She ignored Nate’s pleading and waited for Jimmy’s message. The moment her phone beeped with an address, she grabbed her suitcase. “Let’s go, Nate.”Nate frowned, “I thought we were staying with Uncle Nick, mummy.” His face fell into that puppy look that had always gotten Nita to do anything for him. But this time, she wouldn’t fall for it - not when Nick was involved.“No! We can’t impose on a stranger, Nate.”Nick stood there, arms crossed, smirking like he had the upper hand, “So, you are just going to run away again. You’re going to run like five years ago.”She stopped, turned towards him and said with clenched teeth, “I’m not running. I’m just doing what I think is right.”Nick nodded, stepping closer. “And that’s avoiding what you are supposed to do?”Their eyes locked, the air between them thick with unspoken words. Nate clea

It was a bold move, one that warranted a smirk from Nick as he stared at her with that look that sent shivers down her spine. “I thought I already said I want you back.” Nita scoffed, trying to keep her voice steady, “If I remember clearly, you were the one eager for a divorce then.” “A mistake I am ready to rectify.” His voice was ever steady and clear. “I can show you what I mean,” he trailed his hand down her arm making her breath seize. Nita held her breath; she was going to pretend as if whatever he did wouldn't affect her. He no longer affects her like he wanted. But his hand moved lower than her arm, straying towards her leg. Nita pulled back, cutting off every link between them, “I don’t care what you mean. All I want is a divorce.” He stared at her as if he was trying to read her soul and know every little thing going on in her mind, “Well, it’s a pity we all don’t get what we want.” He moved further in and dropped on the bed. Nita stared between him and the door; she was
