LOGINNick's POV."Of course, I love you, Nita."He hung up the call and stared at the phone. A strange feeling washed all over him. This was the first time in five years she had given him an audience on the phone, and she had actually responded to him well. He smiled at the phone again, before dropping the phone. Then he remembered the message he had gotten earlier from the hacker. Now that Nita had decided to forgive him, the only thing holding him back from connecting with his family was this hacker's threat. As if Nick was going to let anyone threat hold him down. There was no way he could sleep peacefully after finding out about the threat. "Jeff, I need you to find all necessary information about this orphanage in the next ten minutes, and I don't care the method you used. " He hung up before Jeff could say hello, sir or okay, sir. While waiting for Jeff, he sat down and made his research about the orphanage. Why did Nita thought there was something about the orphanage?Apar
Nita's POV She felt different. It was as if a sudden burden had been lifted off her and she zeroed her eyes at Nick's car driving off. He had promised to send her car with a driver and she believed him Immediately she opened the door, an excited Nate jumped at her. Anyone could have thought he had been lurking at the door from the moment she left up to the moment she returned. "How was work?" He lifted his gaze to look up at her while blinking at her. Nita crouched to his level with a smile. "It was awesome.""Does this mean mummy will have more time for me?" She asked, hopefully. Nita laughed. She could tell that was the most important thing to him, and even though she didn't want to promise him falsely. She nodded. "Soon, dear. Mummy will have all the time in the world for just you."He jumped, wrapping his arms around her. Then suddenly, he asked. "Did you see daddy Nick?"Nita felt her cheeks turn red. The question was from a child, but it still felt embarrassing and she f
Nick's POV "I'm sorry. I made the biggest mistake of my life five years ago. And I never replaced you, wifey. You're irreplaceable."Nita frowned. "You didn't act like it. You were glad I was good." She smiled at the memory of it. Nick smiled, too. "I had to. I thought I was dying. According to the doctor, I had just three months to live. I thought it was better to let you go than trap you in a marriage were you will become a widow soon."She had pulled away from him. A look of shock on her face. "You were sick?"Nick nodded. "I was. According to the doctor it was terminal."Suddenly Nita pulled his face. "I had no idea. Honestly, I thought you hated me."Nick shook his head. "I could never hate you. It was that period I discovered I was in love with you. I couldn't let you stay with a sick man."Again, she fell on his chest, weeping.Nick smiled. He missed holding her this close to him. And though he didn't want to say this much, he could no longer keep a secret between them."And
Nita's POV Her heart raced at the possibility that the hacker knew her relationship with Nick. If this was a person who knew her personally, surely, the threat was more than the fact that she was helping Nicro Industries. And more of something personal. But she couldn't point a finger at what could be personal. All her life, she had lived as an orphan. Not involving herself with others and facing her business. Then she had gotten married to Nick and leader and exclusive life. No one knew she was married. After the marriage, she had moved to Adonis and hide there with her child. So, how could anyone had found out about her and Nick. She copied the address, trying to figure out who owns the building the IP address had stopped at. It might just be the answer to the question she had been asking herself. She typed it in. The server loaded for a few minutes and when it stopped. The building was an orphanage. Nita gasped, leaning back on her chair. An orphan. There was no way an or
Jeff bowed his head low, making the secretary eyes widened in surprised. "I was asked to pick you up."Nita scowled at him. She could still remember what he had promised her when he brought the invitation to her at the hotel. Unaware of what was running in her mind, Jeff continued to speak. "It's a pleasure to have you here, ma'am. The boss would be so happy."Nita sneered. "Wasn't because of your boss you received me that day?"Jeff blinked in confusion. "Which day?""Do I have to repeat it to you?" She asked her scowl getting bigger. Before he could come up with a response, they were in the presence of Nick. His sleeve were rolled up as he stood in front of his laptop. A cup of coffee was seated beside his laptop, but the moment his gaze stopped at Nita. A smile replaced the frown on his face. Nita stared at him, speechless. She had no idea how to begin a conversation now that she was in his presence. For someone facing stress, he still looked flawlessly handsome. Nita gave he
Nita's POV In a matter of no time, Nita was dressed up and ready to go to Grimm's company. She shudder at the thought of stepping her foot there again, but what had to be done had to be done. The last time she was at the company was five years ago. And then, Nick had rejected her while she was pregnant with their baby, but she didn't want to think about it. It would be dragging herself back when she had finally decided she wanted to move forward. "Are you going to let him know you're Cyborg?" Mia cut through her train of though. She shook her head. "No. I'm keeping the identity a secret for now."But Mia didn't look convinced. "Then how do you plan on making him believe you're here to help him. The Nita he knew knows basically nothing about programming, not to talk of helping him as a hacker."Nita nodded. "I know, but this time I am going as the managing director of Nicro Industries. I've everything figures out."Mia chuckled. "I just hope so, Nita. But, it will honestly be diffi
Nita’s POV. There was no place to feel comfortable like home, and the state definitely wasn't her home. It hadn't been for five years. Nita rolled on the bed, occasionally trying to see if Nate was also having the same difficulty as her, but the young boy was sound asleep, occasionally snoring li
Nick's POV Sleeping was a dilemma. All Nick could think of was the look on Nita’s face. The last time he had seen her was five years ago, when he had shattered her heart while she was pregnant. Back then, he had thought death would be an escape, but even death refused him. He sat up, working again
Nick’s POVAfter sending the email, Nick remained seated in front of his laptop. For some reason, he had hidden his email address. He knew Nita might not bother to read it if she knew it was from him, but hiding his identity might pique her interest a bit. He waited for some sort of reply or questi
The silence in the dining room was heavy, broken only by the sound of movement from the staff. Nita’s hand trembled slightly as she set down her fork. She had prepared his favorite meal, hoping – foolishly – that tonight he would smile at her the way he had once done when no one else was watching.
