Wren’s pov

I walked out of the house without a word and walked down the street with my bag slung over my shoulder in the cold night.

The street was quiet. I stood on the pavement outside the house. They had made a video of me dancing in someone’s living room a few minutes ago and why was I stupid enough to let that happen when I could have just walked out?

I began walking down the road and assuring myself that everything was fine but no matter how much I tried to convince myself, I knew it wasn

Wren’s POV “You’re lying to my face right now and you think I can’t see it? After everything, after I had given you another chance, after I drove you home and ate dinner with you.” He raised his voice slightly.“Your father said something at dinner that you still haven’t had a clear explanation for.” I pointed out. “Yet I didn’t behave as crazy as you’re doing right now.”He went still, like he was searching for what to say. “I let it be because you asked me to and now you’re standing in the hallway accusing me of lying because I have male contacts on my phone.” I looked up at him. “Do you even hear yourself?”He clenched his jaw. “Wren,” Alex called behind me, standing at the doorway. “She needs to come back inside.”It was silent in the hallway, and Blake stepped back from me a few steps. He looked at me then Alex and scoffed. “The professor asks that she come back in, whatever the issue is, you can talk it out later,” Alex added. She turned to look at me in concern. “Are you okay?

Wren’s POV Ross had made eggs this morning. He slid the plate to me across the kitchen island and poured two cups of coffee. This was one of my favorite things about Ross. The fact that he knew how to cook. I rubbed my belly while eating quietly with him.Dani’s door was still closed and I did not think about any other thing not worth thinking of.“Ready?” Ross asked, having already eaten breakfast and cleaned up our plates.“Yeah.” I nodded. The morning was cold and bright and this was a trick that makes you leave your jacket because you believe that it's actually going to get warmer. And then a few seconds into the drive you realize you made a huge mistake. I pulled my jacket tighter and walked across Ross into the school, watching students walk in as well.Everything felt almost normal till I saw Maria. She was standing at the fitness building with two of her lollipop girls, whom I recognized from the party. They talked about something I didn’t hear and burst out laughing. She lo

Wren’s povI looked between them, Blake’s father had his glass halfway to his mouth with a calm expression. He was looking at me like he was expecting a reaction from me.Blake was staring down at his plate and didn’t bother glancing at me. He stopped eating, his jaw was clenched.“I’m sorry?” I arched my brows, for some reason I didn’t feel weird about my words. His father set his glass down. “I think you heard me.”“ I heard you well sir.” I kept my eyes on him. “I don’t know what you mean.”The table was quiet, then Blake looked up.“Dad.” His voice felt forced. “I’ve got it.”His father looked at him, they liked liken they were fighting through their eyes. “Do you? His father said it without asking.“I said I’ve got it.” Blake held his gaze for more than a second and then looked at me like he was trying to reassure me. “Why don’t you go grab your bag from upstairs, we’ll head off soon.”I looked up at him. He stared back.“Wten.” He muttered quietly. “Please.”I folded my napkins

Wren’s povBlake drove through the road angrily. His fists clenched around the steering wheel.I watched the street pass by in a haze and could only think about Dani standing on the pavement with his helmet in hand.I had made my decision and I wasn’t turning back from it.Blake's house was on the quieter side of town and we had gotten there sooner than I had expected.“We’ll talk inside.” He tells me before stepping out of the car and walking toward the front door.I nodded without question and followed suit. The first thing I noticed when we walked in was the smart seventy-inch television, which I had only seen in showrooms online that I knew I could never afford. The volume was low, displaying an evening program and casting a blue light across the living room. My eyes caught sight of someone, a lady on the couch with her head leaning at a weird angle and her shoes still on, seeming to be asleep.Squinting my eyes I could tell the resemblance to Blake… perhaps his mom.I recalled hi

Wren’s POV With the way everyone looked at me as I walked through the main door, I knew something was wrong, their heads turned in my direction, the mumbled speech they said whilst I walked by was enough for me to know I was still the latest topic in school.I didn’t care and just kept walking.I made it to my locker and opened it, reaching out for my textbooks when I heard the first one.“That’s her.” A girl mumbled to her friend beside me.I turned, and there were about four of them in a semicircle… I saw the picture on the phone of me in those skimpy clothes and a video of me dancing in it.“Didn’t know we had entertainment in school.” One of the girls snickered my way, staring right at me like she wanted me to know she was talking to me.The others burst out laughing.“Apparently she’s been all over Dani.” Another girl added. “Meanwhile she has a boyfriend and is also dancing at her job place, who knows if she’s a hooker.”There was more laughter. I turned around, shut my locker,

I stopped walking and stared at the screen for a while before picking up.“Where are you?” He asked in concern, as if he could tell what had happened. “Wren, where are you right now?”“Outside,” I replied. “I’m walking.”“Walking where? It’s nearly ten, Anna told me you slept over last night and today you’re yet to be home.”“Can’t I walk outside anymore? I just need some air.”“When are you okay?” He asked,
