13. Exhausted

Gwaine’s POV:

I flew mindlessly down the stairs in hot pursuit of my escaping prisoner, but then I bumped into the last person I expected to see, especially so late into the night.

“Regan, what the hell are you doing here?” I asked frowning in genuine confusion, but when I caught the look on my Beta’s face, realization hit me.

“Don’t even tell me. You? You were the one who let her out? Why? How did you even know about her?” I asked all four questions in one breath not bothering to hide my aggression and growing anger.

“I didn’t want to. I was just tryi-“ He began, but just hearing him speak was causing both myself and my wolf to go crazy.

I could see the blood dripping from his nose and the part looked cracked, it was obvious that my Beta had made a mistake around the girl and he had suffered for it, but that didn’t make up for the fact that he had let my prisoner escape.
