Avalor pov

Snapping my wrist, I watched for the 10th time as I clenched my fist and moved around the throne room while Russell was seated calmly after we had a little argument. I couldn’t control my emotions anymore, and my thoughts overwhelmed me and spoke up:

"Hilda has taken so long, Russell; are you not bothered?" Russell snapped at me but remained calm.

"You know you are not welcome in my palace. You need to get something straight into your head. The only reason I agree to let you go with Hilda is because she has done what our kingdom forbids, and she is useless staying here. So to me, she is a bad market, and the only gift from me to you could only be a rejected slut." He snarled while my face dashed, his glimpse fist flying around my face.

I see Russell doesn’t know why I am called the Ruthless lycan Alpha. With just a snap of my fingers, I could wipe out his entire kingdom.

"Hilda Storm was taken into my pack after her parents had died some years ago. Unfortunately, she became a burden to my kingdom. Until now, she remained mateless and wolfless."

"Shut up, Russell!" I cut him short while stalking towards him; he sidestepped, moving out of my reach, but I yanked his shoulders, and his guards rushed at once.

"I see you are indeed fearless. To come into my palace and to talk to me anyhow!" He groaned while he gave a signal to his guards to back off as they rushed in the second time.

Tilting my head sideways, I discovered my guards were already filled inside the throne room, but I quickly commanded them to wait outside.

"I will not allow you or anyone else to talk like that about Hilda Storm or else!"

"Or else what?" His canines slipped out, and his claws slipped out of his fingertips as he snarled at me.

I pulled my hands off his grip, trying so hard to control the beast in me.

"Guards! Guards! " I shrieked frantically.

While they all rushed in fright. I could hear their racing hearts beating at my voice. They all know how rude I can be when I scream their names in the manner I did.

"Go over Hilda's chamber and fetch her the right way. Let no scratch fall on her skin!" I commanded them, and they all ran out to hers.

"Not everyone should go,morons!" I shrieked, and they all turned back, looking confused.

"Let Zain and Stone go fetch her. Zuxi should stay right here with me. I said to them while roaming my blue eyes dangerously at them.

A few minutes later, I heard heartbeats racing like someone was sprinting behind my back. Turning around just to look behind my shoulders, I see the two guards I had sent to fetch Hilda. I pulled the sword I had on my thigh, but they shrank away before they could speak.

"My Alpha, my King, we we!" One of them began stuttering.

"Speak up, where is Hilda, Morons?" I groaned and pulled out one of the daggers I had on me. Just as I raised my hands,

"Stop it, Avalor; you can’t murder your guard because of a wolf-less woman. Let them speak first." Russell's voice echoed, and my beast lowered at his command. I look at him suspiciously, but he pouts.

Immediately, my heartbeat thumps loudly in my ears while my stomach drops somewhere dark and cold inside me at the scene playing. I gasped.

"My king, I am sorry, but Hilda is not in her chambers, and we found blood spilling all over her room." I snapped at Russell, but he made a cheeky smile, raising more suspicious thoughts in my head.

"What are you saying? No, this can’t be! Take me to her chambers right away! I shrieked angrily while I ran off with my guards to Hilda’s chambers.

Just very close to the Hallway near her room, as one of my guards had stated earlier, is Lucas Brandon. I pushed him with my broad shoulders, not as if it were intentional, but I was hurrying up to get to Hilda’s room.

"King Avalor, I am the prince of the blood moon pack and the future heir apparent to the throne of the blood moon pack. I deserve some respect, and you just quacked me without a sorry from you."

I stood for a while at his wailing screams but fought the urge to rush back and respond to him the way he deserved, which I had to ignore by rushing to Hilda’s room.

"And why is he coming from Hilda’s chambers?" The question struck in my head, but I shook it off while I hurried enraged to her chambers.

Getting into her room, my vision became blurred at the site of the blood that was splattered all over the floor tiles. I was wiping my eyes the third time when I snapped a broken glass, and there was blood all around it.

I bent down to my knees and used my fingers to dip into the blood on the floor and sniff it. It then dawned on me that Hilda must be dead. A loud groan escaped me as I walked out of the room and back to the throne room.

"Was that why Russell gave me a cheeky smile when the guard said Hilda was missing? I see they don’t know who they are up against." I muttered furiously, walking fast.

"I see your son Lucas has connived with his mob to murder Hilda after he rejected her," I said, looking straight into Russell’s eyes while I said so.

"What did you just say? You mean I would murder Hilda? For the fact that I rejected her. Doesn’t make me a murderer. What are you talking about?"

"You lie, moron! You had murdered her before I saw you in the hallway close to her room. What were you doing at her direction then?"

Dad, did you hear him lay such accusations on me, and you just kept calm?" His father, Russell, let out a groan before he stood up by my side.

"What nonsense is going on here? He questioned me as he snapped through the window to see my guards on the ground already.

"When and why did you bring all this security to my palace, and could one explain what you all mean by Hilda being murdered? Murdered in my palace?"

"On the contrary, King Avalor, I think you instructed your guards to kill her. You can’t possibly deny it. I saw you a while ago in the hallway close to her chambers, and now you come here to accuse us of killing Hilda." Lucas added.

I became more enraged at his words toward me. He killed Hilda, and his father is pretending not to be aware of it. My canines slipped out, and my claws began to slide out of my fingers uncontrollably.

I walked towards Russell and whispered to his ears, "Get ready for me because the battle line has been drawn." I sneered.

Your son has the effrontery to murder the only woman my heart beats for. In as much as she doesn’t know. I was hoping she could once she followed me back, and now I am very convinced Lucas murdered her.

The blood moon pack will be responsible for the consequences of your actions, Prince Lucas!" I stalked closer, looking him in the eyes.

"And from this day on, I declare a war, and no one can stop that unless Hilda Storm is still alive and brought back to me."

"I will be back. Let everyone get ready for the upfront war!" I groaned and left for my car while my guards followed me afterwards.
