Chapter Seven.

One of his lovers.

Emily smiled trying to maintain her composure within herself. She had been daydreaming thinking she had a chance with Liam. He was her boss for goodness sake.

“Emily, are you alright?” He asked.

“ I am, I just have a slight headache and wouldn't be staying long for the party, because to be honest Sir, I am not a party freak”.

“ I don't think so, the Emily I saw at my parents party was lively and very extroverted”. He said.

“ That's because my friend forced me out of the house, never mind you would not understand”.

Emily adjusted her boobs properly as it was beginning to show too much of her cleavage and Liam was beginning to stare at her lustfully making her feel uncomfortable.

“ You look absolutely lovely and different in a good way Emily”.

“ Thank you, I better get going seeing you have an important guest beside you”.

“Pardon my manners, I was in awe that I forgot to introduce you to Ashley, and Ashley this is Emily”.

He didn't really stress who she was to him? Emily was curious, she wanted to ask but what right does she have to do so? Liam hasn't made his intention known to her”.

Emily smiled widely, shaking hands with Ashley “ I am his personal assistant at work” Ashley accepted the handshake without formally introducing herself except for the name which Liam mentioned a while ago.

Emily was confused, she needed answers but was getting none from these two people. If she wasn't important to him, why did he bring her to the party to make her jealous? Does he know she has started developing feelings for him?

“Emily, you seem lost in thought what's the matter”

“ Nothing, I have been having strange nightmares and it's affecting my health” she lied, how could she tell her boss that she was jealous of the lady he brought to the office party. How could she convince him to look at her as more than just an assistant?

“ We need to strategize on the new product that is about to enter the market hopefully it would make a great sale like the previous product, Kudos Emily you have been really beneficiary since you came to the company” He said warmly this time to join the other team at the end corner of the room.

“ I see you are drooling all over him girl, get a grip of yourself he is your boss” Ashley spoke for the first time after the introduction.

Emily was stunned” That's not true, I am deeply pleased to be working with such talented hands like Liam and if you don't mind it is a great pleasure for me and if you see that as a bean into my boss then you must be crazy”.

Ashley holding a glass of champagne moved closer and whispered into Emily ears “ For your information Liam only has eyes for me, and no other woman, He is mine and you have no chance against me despite he praises you and all that your place is to be his servant, the earlier you realise that the better for you”.

Emily smiled as she spoke“ Why defend someone who isn't proud to show you to the whole world that you are

his, I haven't seen him parade you to be his woman or are you simply warming his bed or he is using you to pass time until the one arrives”

Ashley fumed up, pouring the glass of wine on Emily and was about to slap her when Liam showed up. Seeing the mess caused by Ashley “How could you be insensitive. What causes this?

“ Ask her!!” They both responded in unison.

Liam moved closer to Emily “Take my coat and you can leave since we are done with the party celebration ”. he said, giving it to her to wear to conceal the damage done to her dress by Ashley.

“Lets go, He said, dragging Ashley who fumed furiously at Liam's kind gesture, obviously dying of jealousy.

“Let me be, I will show her more that she shouldn't try to mess around with me”. She cursed following Liam to his car packed outside.

“ I have told you that you can never be more than a mistress to me, I only need you to warm my bed, why do you keep embarrassing yourself”.

“ Liam, I thought you bringing me to this party means we are taking it a little further”.

“ I only did it because you insisted and that would be the last time you follow me anywhere”.

“ Are you on the side of that low life girl or mine? Do you now like her because I see the way you looked at her when she walked in, she is your personal assistant Liam, you can't possibly be falling for her”.

“What is your business if I have feelings for her Ashley you don't have the right to meddle with my work life, when I am obviously done with you, you will no longer be my number one she will”

“You have no right to humiliate her the way you did, and if I ever hear you complain, all the privileges I give to you and your family would have to stop and you will go back to your miserable and wretched life”

Ashley bowed her head as she listened to Liam words in the car. Why did she fall for him? She was so stupid to think Liam considers her and would love to make her his own? She would be nothing other than a mistress to him. Liam was such a jerk but she couldn't leave him. Her family needed the money. She has a sick mom to take care of, three younger ones that look up to her. Liam was her best choice If she had to take care of her responsibility.

“ I am so sorry sir, I was being stupid and emotional. I shouldn't have done that”. She pleaded after rethinking what would happen to her if Liam stopped extending his financial benefits to her.

“I wouldn't pardon this attitude next time, get a grip of yourself” He said leaving her as he shut the car door.

“ Let me out Liam,” She pleaded.

“ That's your punishment for behaving badly, next time you will think about your actions before performing them” He said and turned his back leaving with the car keys in his pocket.
