LOGINChapter Five
It's the weekend _^_Time to party. Entering into the Makolo mansion to celebrate their 50th years anniversary and retirement from Glams enterprises. Emily's jaw dropped as soon as she entered the mansion. Her eyes roamed the gigantic mansion. The decorators have done a wonderful job by decorating the house with lovely designs. It was absolutely stunning. She walked down the stairs elegantly. Rosie had left her as she was here first for work before relaxation. She has to order her workers to set up the cake that she baked specially for Mr and Mrs Makolo to look just like a castle in the most stylish palatable manner. Emily was stuck all by herself. She looked around and couldn't see any familiar faces. She decided to concentrate on her phone reading a romance novel. The laughter, chatting and merriment from inside distracted her as much as she wanted to concentrate. Rosie walked up to her “ where have you been, come inside Emily’ she said and she followed her to the hall. “ This is a toast to a love so strong that nothing can separate its bond, a love so pure and a love so true that it stands the taste of time, a toast to the most lovely couple I have known, Mr and Mrs Makolo”. Mr. Makolo announced to everyone as they all clapped in unison. He continued as he announced the latest development. “ My company Glams enterprises has also been handed down to my son who has brought nothing but joy to us, Liam Makolo came forward, congratulations as the new C.E.O and no longer acting on my behalf”. Emily's eyes widened in shock as Liam smiled and hugged his dad. “ I promise to do my best to make you proud dad”. He said. He sighted Emily, and was shocked to find her here. He didn't inform anyone from the office about the party. He hadn't made any plans for his office to attend this event. “ Wow, you didn't tell me Mr. and Mrs. Makolo were your boss' parents, this is getting exciting”. “ Because I had no idea, I was stunned to see him here, he was the last person I expected, I certainly know he is not the party type so I guess not so surprised to see that he is the future heir of Mr. and Mrs. Makolo” Liam stepped down from the podium and walked straight towards Emily and Rosie direction“ Good day Sir, Emily stammered. “I see you are here. How are you enjoying the party? "he asked. Why is he being nice all of a sudden? Does he want to get mad at her for attending the party when she was certain she did not know he was going to be there? She smiled. “ The part is great, the music is good, thank you for having me. My friend Roise invited me”. “ You are welcome, it's lovely having you around” He said staring directly into her eyes as he patted her back and left. He went ahead to exchange pleasantries with other guests. “ What was that for? Rosie asked curiously. “ I don't know, he obviously sees me now as visible, not as invisible as I used to be at work or the little clumsy girl he met at the elevator”. “It is okay, no more chit-chat about your young, handsome hot boss”. “Come let's have a drink and get a little tipsy for once” “ A few shots wouldn't be bad to clear my head off though I need to clear my head off the fact that my cold boss is right here with me watching”. Oblivious of where she was going, Emily looked up to see the face of the person she had accidently bumped into. “I am so sorry, I wasn't looking”. “ Are you always this careless or you can't seem to resist touching me”. He snarled. “I had a little too much to drink, and it's taking a toll on me, where is my friend?” she asked a rhetorical question. Dragging her by the arms to sit on the couch. She was getting uncomfortable. “You should be careful or else someone might take advantage of you in this state” Laughing hysterically “ And when did my boss start caring about me, you don't even see me”. She said not filtering her words as she spoke them. He dropped his phone on the sofa and inched closer to her. “what are you talking about, I am your boss and you should listen to me, don't drink beer more than you can handle and mess yourself up like a child”. “ In as much as it's not my business you are still my employer and it matters” His chest close to her now and the proximity between them made her legs twitch. She pushed him away from her.” I am a little clumsy girl right? The one that you won't ever want to bother you, isn't it”. She said as they both stared into each other's eyes. Rosie came in seeing her friend totally drunk. “ OMG, I am so sorry sir, if only I have not force her to this party then she wouldn't be in this condition, thank you Sir for taking care of my friend while I was away”. Rosie explained to Liam who seem uninterested at the conversation. “ Next time tell her to be more mature and drink less”. He responded. “ I will, thanks for tonight we will be heading home since I am done with the whole activities of today”. He left without a single word, as Rosie struggled to carry Emily who was still muttering some words and extremely reluctant to follow Rosie, faling at the stairs at various intervials. “I am not done, I want to give him a piece of my mind, He thinks I am a clumsy, little girl, well, I am not and I will show it to him”. She yelled.Chapter TwentyLiam is a JerkEmily returned home, knocked on the door, and Rosie hurried to open it. Emily pushed the door and entered the room, slamming it behind her.She collapsed onto the couch, dropping her bag to her right with a quick gesture. Her palms were soaked with sweat.Rosie stared at her; a wave of panic washed over her when their eyes met. She set the book she had been reading on her lap.“How was the party? I hope you had fun? You don’t look relaxed. Are you okay, Emily?” Rosie asked, firing several questions at once.Emily felt her heart pounding in her chest. “I wish I could be, but I drank too much. My God, it’s such a disaster. I still can’t believe this is happening to me. What did I do wrong?” Her body began to tremble.“Breathe deeply. Whatever happens, we’ll get through this together. What happened?”Her emotions exploded at that moment.“How did I end up in this mess?” she shouted as Rosie approached and grabbed her arms.“Tell me something, what’s the prob
Chapter NineteenI Can’t Believe I’m PregnantEmily arrived just in time for the celebration. It was a reception for the teams from Glam and Graham, with both CEOs present: Liam and Mr. Rodrick. Emily smiled, filled with a sense of accomplishment, as she entered gracefully, her charm catching everyone’s attention.“Congratulations, Emily,” Mr. Rodrick said, approaching to acknowledge her work.“If only you weren’t employed by your boss, who happens to be my friend, I would have been delighted to consider you for my own company. It’s been a pleasure working with your company to make this possible. I’m truly thrilled,” he added.“Thank you, sir. It was a team effort; we succeeded together,” Emily replied.“I see your humility is as admirable as your competence,” he added, shaking her hand with such firmness that she wavered slightly. She tried to pull her hand back, but he seemed insistent.“All is well. We both rose to the occasion for this project, and the results speak for themselves
Chapter EighteenSuccessEmily opened her phone and saw a notification from the Skype news station. It was everywhere:“Coco Pops has reached the top spot as the best-selling cereal on the consumer market, while families enjoy a nutritious breakfast every morning,” announced the journalist.Tears of joy streamed down her cheeks. She screamed from her room and ran through the house looking for Rosie. She finally found her in the kitchen, baking as usual, her hands covered in flour.“What’s going on?” Rosie asked, noticing the excitement written all over Emily’s face.“You won’t believe what just happened! The project I told you about the last time, the one that was weighing so heavily on me… it’s finally launched on the market, and it’s a huge success,” Emily said, overflowing with happiness.“Rosie, I can’t believe my ears. It worked, and it comes with a raise and a bonus from my boss and his partner. This will give us more money to pay our bills,” Emily added, beaming.“I’m so happy
Chapter SeventeenThe New ProjectThe next morning, Emily opened the folder Alice had brought to the office.“I have work to do. I can’t believe I’m here worrying about the past,” she muttered to herself.Although the work was challenging, responding to Graham’s proposal was the most important thing for her, and she couldn’t bear the thought of losing her job.Emily’s phone rang, and she glanced at the caller before answering. It was Liam. She sighed deeply.“What does he want this time?”— “Good morning, Miss.”— “Emily, come down to my office. I have something important to discuss with you—it’s urgent.”— “Alright, sir. I’m on my way,” she replied, giving the document one last glance before heading out.— “I want to finalize the discussion regarding our upcoming projects. I have an important meeting with a client next week, and I think you would be perfect to lead this project.”— “Your dedication and attention to detail have not gone unnoticed.”— “Thank you, sir. I’ll give it my b
Chapter SixteenProfessionalismThe next day, Emily entered the building and headed straight for Liam’s office to bring him his usual coffee and present the day’s schedule. Once that was done, she quietly slipped away. She wasn’t ready to face him yet. She froze as she heard his voice behind her.“What happened last night meant nothing,” he said, looking her squarely in the eyes as she turned her gaze to a corner of the room.“My God, why does he keep staring at me like that?” she whispered. “These eyes will be my downfall.”“As long as you continue to do your job well here at Glam’s Enterprises, I am willing to work with you. What happened last night is entirely your fault: you couldn’t control your desire for your boss. Do you always get carried away this easily with everyone you meet?” he said coldly.“I expect professionalism at all times. It must never interfere with work. You need to put everything behind you and focus on the well-being, growth, and development of Glam’s Enterpr
Chapter FifteenMemoriesThe memory made her shiver—not from shame, but from the pleasure he had given her.My God, it had felt so good. She couldn’t deny it.But that morning? It felt as if it hadn’t meant anything to him.Emily paced her room, wrapped in a silk robe, the phone still clutched in her hand. She glanced in the mirror: her skin still bore faint traces of him. A bruise on her collarbone. Red marks on her thighs. Her face was a mixture of regret, confusion, and… desire.“Can someone explain why I’m lying naked in a hotel with my boss?” she asked, to no one in particular. The room remained still. Silence prevailed. Every word she spoke echoed back at her.“Oh my God… this can’t be what I think, right?” she gasped, shocked.Tears streamed down her face, her heart shattering into a million tiny pieces. He stepped out of the bathroom. He didn’t give her a glance, grabbed his clothes, and began getting ready.“You should hurry and get dressed. Checkout is at noon, and I’m not r
