I instantly felt defensive. “I dunno, just the first thing that I found. Feel free to change the channel. I rarely watch as much T.V. as it is.”

“Oh? Why’s that?” Jet asked, he seemed seriously interested.

“I’m usually outside or working.” I shrugged. I let myself relax into him. It felt natural and I fit perfectly into him. My pale skin glowed in the moonlight that was shining in from the open windows. It wasn’t a sexual tension but a comfortable atmosphere. A safe place.

“You don’t get sunburned with your porcelain skin?”

“Never. I guess it makes sense now why that is…” I trailed off, not sure what to say. I felt his concern go through me. “What are you concerned about?” I asked, without looking at him.

“If you are okay.” He said quickly. I didn’t get any hint of a lie from him. Usually I can tell when someone is lying easily, and he wasn’t lying.
