“What’s wrong?” Jet asked. He was sitting across from me. His head was resting in his hand with his ankle back over his leg. He liked to sit like that I noticed.

“Everything is so… impersonal here. No conversations, no one dared to speak, basically.” I said bluntly.

“That is how I run things. I am fair, but no emotions. You can’t run a pack with your heart, you have to use your brain.”

My jaw dropped at this. “Excuse me? You expect me, the daughter of the Moon Goddess and Mother Nature, to assist you in running our pack and NOT use my heart?”
