"See," I made the 'see all' gesture with my right hand. "then we need to tackle each other to play."
"No. As in, he should not have touched you." He glared at the male again. His fists clenching.
I threw my head back, staring at the blue sky, not a cloud in sight. Pinching the bridge of my nose to calm down. "Then what do you want us to do?"
I made a lot more gestures than I needed to, hoping to once and for all distract him from the male.
His eyes snapped to mine. "Don't call me dumbo."
I gave a hard laugh, then asked. "Are you dense or something?"
For the hundredth time, he growled at me, baring his teeth. I raised a brow questioning his sanity.
"That's it," I exclaimed jumping up, a wide grin replacing my frustrated scowl. "You are dense. That's why you think I'm your mate."
The only thing this guy seemed to know how to do was growl. "You are my mate."
I took one large step closer to the alpha so we were only a couple of feet apart. He gave me his full undivided attention. I hoped the male behind me was smart enough to make his exit now.
Saying really, really, really slowly, so both the male and the wolf could understand. "No. We. Are. Not."
The alpha's shaking continued, both wolf and male fighting for dominance over the same body. The rest of the wolves who were watching the show started to walk away slowly. I just stood straighter.
"Yes, we are."
It was my turn to glare at the crazy alpha. "Okay, do you think you could calm down a bit bud? You're scaring the children."
"Don't call me bud." He said through gritted teeth. He closed his eyes, concentrating on the wolf inside. Eventually the male won, and the shaking eased. He looked me over. "You are my mate, mate."
I started laughing again, flicking my hair over my shoulder, jutting out my hip. "I don't think so."
He looked around the field at all the people watching us. All the people listening to us. He did seem like he was trying to calm down.
"And I will call you what I want to call you," I snapped back. "Bud."
He glared at me, but he seemed to have calmed down a bit. Probably thanks to the fact that the giant male was now out of his line of sight. Out of sight, out of mind.
He looked once more at the crowd that was staring with wide eyes. "Come with me."
He gestured for me to follow him. Yep, he was dense. "There's no way I'm going anywhere with you."
Another vicious growl ripped from his chest. I literally heard a child start to cry in the crowd. I rolled my eyes at the drama queen in front of me.
He took another menacing step closer. "You will come with me. Away from these people."
"Away from the only witnesses of my murder? I don't think so." I blurted out.
His eyes turned blacker. "No one is going to hurt you, especially when I am around."
"I'm not talking about someone else hurting me," I exclaimed, pointing a finger at him. "You're the psycho."
Now he looked at me as if I were the dense one. "Why would I murder my mate?"
"Because I'm not your mate. How many times do I have to tell you that?" I shouted. He let out a half growl, half frustrated sigh back at me.
"You are my mate, and you will come with me." He took another step closer, lowering himself so he was my height. Looking straight into my eyes he breathed out quietly so no one could hear him. "If you don't, I will hunt down that mutt you are trying to protect. Rip out his eyes, shove them down his throat, and feed the rest of him to my hounds."
So much for out of sight, out of mind. Looking right back into his eyes. I leaned even closer to the alpha in front of me. We were so close I could feel his breath fan my face.
"Prove it," I whispered, daring him.
He stood up straight, glaring through the crowds. He sniffed the air and made a move to step around me so he could fulfil his promise. The look of death on his face. Before he stepped past me, I shot my arm out to stop him.
"Stop," I said when I realised he was planning on proving it. "I'll go with you."
He gave me a smirk. "Good."
"But," His smirk froze on his face. "Don't think I'm going to listen to anything you have to say," I promised.
He turned around ready to leave the crowd behind.
"And," I spoke up again. He turned his head to look behind him. I could see the frustration in his eyes. "I want someone else present."
He turned back around to face me, confusion etched onto his face. "Why?"
"So I have a witness for when you murder me." I gave him my best 'duh' face. He really was dense if he thought I would just let him murder me without a trail of evidence.
He gave me a weird frustrated look and then made eye contact with someone behind me. The alpha nodded his head grumbling out a "fine" and then turned around. Just expecting me to follow him.
Instead, I turned around to see who he had nodded at. The Aaron Rodgers look-alike was heading in our direction. His mouth still in a firm line of concentration. A couple of feet down from him, the icy female with the bun came out from the crowd, following Rodgers.
Behind Aaron Rodgers, I saw SJ. He had taken a couple of steps in front of the crowd as if he was going to do something to help the situation, but instead, he opted for being a coward and stayed where he was. So much for a territorial alpha wolf. I tried one last time, giving him a pleading look. He just shook his head sympathetically. I rolled my eyes.
Christan sat on one of the benches, glancing between me and SJ. He glared at SJ, silently asking him why he didn't do anything to help me. SJ wouldn't be able to do anything anyway. Cassar Salvaterre thought I was his mate, which meant no one would try and force us apart. Even if I wasn't his actual mate.
It looked like Christan was going to attempt to come after me himself. But he wouldn't be able to do anything with a broken leg. Clearly I picked the wrong guy to sabotage. He probably wouldn't be able to do anything in full health either. Everyone heard the stories about Alpha Cassar.
Which meant there would be no one to do my dirty work. It was all up to me.
I groaned turning my body to face the alpha again. He was turned around, glaring at me and the two males I was making eye contact with. I rolled my eyes, glaring right back.
He looked expectantly at me. Waiting for me to follow him. I was half tempted to just run in the other direction. Far away. Screw the job, it clearly wasn't going to work out anyways.
As if reading my thoughts he let out a low growl. "Don't even think about running."
I just jutted my hip out in response. He took a step closer to me as if a warning. I just growled right back at him.
Aaron Rodgers walked up beside me, keeping a safe distance away. He mumbled to me, "Please just follow him."
I glowered at him. Then I glowered at the female who tricked me. She was now standing on my other side. Then lastly I glowered at the Alpha.
But I followed. With my head held high, shoulders back. Aaron Rodgers on my left, the female on the right. I walked through the bush that surrounded the clearing. Heading for my soon to be grave. It was going to be a long walk.
I knew that it would be easier for me to make my escape when three wolves watched, instead of one hundred. That's why I followed.
The Alpha came to walk beside me. His attention never leaving me. I growled at him when I caught him looking at me.
The first second he was distracted, I was gone.

“So.” I smirked, looking at them expectantly. “You gonna kick me out now?”The six wolves just started laughing. And wouldn’t shut up.I looked at them expectantly. “Any day now.”“Of course not.” Vita smiled softly at me. “The longer you are here, the more you prove how much you deserve to be our Luna.”The others nodded their heads, agreeing with her.My jaw dropped.“What is wrong with you wolves?” I cried. “I mean I get Cassar still being obsessed with me. He’s a freak.”Cassar shrugged his shoulders.“But you guys? You’re supposed to be the smart ones.”The wolves just smiled softly at me.“To be honest, I didn’t want you to be our Luna.” Rose spoke up. The words surprising coming from such a sweet female. “I grew up hearing horror stories about foxes. Everyone has heard the stories of the Queen of Tricks who is driven by selfish greed.”She stared at me intensely. Her words were soft. She apologizing to me.“But then you risked your life to save those pups. You stood up to the F
The wolves jaws loosened too. No one was expecting me to offer them that kind of information.“Why would you want to help him?” Harlen scoffed icily. “He’s bottom of the barrel.”I held up a figure, stopping her. “No, that’s Cassar.”“Why?” Cassar asked. His face was serious as he considered my offer.I shrugged a shoulder. “I have my reasons.”“Not unless I know.”I clicked my tongue. “I guess you’re never going to know my secrets then.”I needed to let Baras free, but I knew it would take a lot for Cassar to agree. So I was willing to give him the second thing he wanted most. My story.Sometimes, sacrificing a little bit of yourself for someone else was necessary. But only once in a while.“Answer one question.” Cassar crossed his arms.I raised a brow, urging him on.“Is he a danger?” He asked. His question was heavy but a good one.I thought about it. “Probably.”“Then I cannot let him go.” Cassar said.“Cass, we’re shifters. We’re all dangerous.” I replied. “But if you meant to a
Days had passed and Cassar had refused to let me out of his sight. Apparently I was hazardous to and by myself. Jokes on him, I was hazardous either way.But that just meant days of staying in bed with an overprotective alpha threatening anyone who dared get close. He was more beast then man at this point.Apparently it was normal for wolves in these types of circumstances. Their instincts went way out of wack for the need to protect.I just found it annoying. The only creatures brave enough to face him was Harlen and the doctor. Aiden tried but Cassar almost bit his head off when I said I would love for Aiden to warm my bed with me.Cassar said I wasn’t as funny as I thought. It didn’t matter too much though considering the amount of drugs the doctor had me on. I could only stay awake for an hour at a time and even that was a sketchy hour. The doctor had done some serious damage, or he had fixed some serious damage according to Cassar.Either way I was out of it.Slowly I raised my a
In no time Cassar entered the pack village.Wolves lived throughout the whole territory, but the majority of the wolf families lived in the small town. Every pack had one, though Viribus’s town was bigger than others. The village looked like a normal cluster of homes. Though it was designed to give wolves privacy away from prying human eyes.If any wolf needed something they would have to travel to the closest human town for food, schooling, and more. Though every pack had a doctor who specialized in shifters.Cassar neared an old house in the pack village, not far from the pack house. It was well taken care of with white siding and blue shutters. The front door swung open, the wolves inside waiting for our arrival.A male with grey curly hair rushed forward.Cassar knelt down so the doctor could carefully pull me off of his back. His hands were solid, yet gentle. He smelt like disinfectant and evergreen. Signs of a true wolf doctor. The doctor held me up as we walked towards the pack
