Jace's POV

"Lisa, breathe, please calm down" Paige cooed quickly shooting up from the bed and signaling me to go start the car while she gets the kids.

"I can't, Paige, he should wake up and answer me, he can't do this" Lisa cried out her voice breaking at the end, the tension in the room grew as Paige turned to look at me the same fear I was sure was written all over my face on her face too.

"Jay" I spoke up once he picked on the first ring, it seemed like he found it difficult to sleep too.

"The police called" I started not knowing how to relay the message I just received.

"Has he been found?" Jay asked his voice tensed.

"Yes," I answered in a clipped voice.

"Okay, that's good news," he said releasing a sigh of relief.

"Where is he now?" Jay asked immediately followed by some background shuffling like he was getting up from where he lay.

"The hospital" I muttered knowing fully well I was only building the suspense and anxiety.

"Wait what, why? What happened?" he questioned, I paused
