Erik had gone ahead and talked briefly about the characters and plots contained in his book. Then he got up and said, "I have a demonstration to make and I'd like to invite my friend Peter Brooklyn who's an astrologist and mystics to join me up on stage."
"What's this about?" Tiffany asked Peter who was already getting up.
"I don't know what Erik wants from me," Peter said corkily. "But it's gotta be very amazing going up on stage with the star of the night."
Simone cleared her throat which made Stephanie and Tiffany turn their attention to her. Simone then went on to say, "Hello ladies this must feel awkward but believe me it's nothing. We picked this seat because we know you guys and it'll probably be the last time we will be seeing each other in a while. Tiffany you can stop scowling now."
"I just don't get you Simone," Tiffany said. "Why are you stalking someone else's fiance?"
The book launch had come to an end with the demonstration. Erik and Peter were still up on stage. They could be seen attending to a line of people. Stephanie was walking back to the table with Simon."Hey that was really weird," Simon said."Yeah I am not sure how I feel after that," Stephanie said, pausing in her tracks. "I mean I was so sure I'd fail at least once!""You bet!" Simon said, "I thought it was a bluff but now I'm starting to feel otherwise."Stephanie continued walking and she said, "Anyways, I think it's a trick. I watch a lot of magic shows. We should inspect those pearls properly. Maybe there's a way it changes its colors."They arrived at their table. Simone and Tiffany looked like Tom and Jerry forced to be in the same space. Something in Simon's memory made him think Tiffany would have been the kind of girl he should like. However, his emoti
Stephanie had a feeling of a growing confusion. On one hand, she was tired of leading Kane on, but on the other, she also knew she didn't know much about Simon to pick him over Kane. She just felt drawn to him from the day she first saw him at the B's. Kane had been chill after she had slapped him the other day, which was totally impulsive. She hadn't meant to do that, but why would he lash out like that? There was something she hated about it when men acted without thinking or displaying signs of violence. The day had arrived when she was going to travel to California. Kane would be coming to her apartment any minute now to take her to the airport. Tiffany had gone to Hawaii with Peter. She appreciated the time alone and she reflected on her feelings. On one hand she really liked Kane but on the other she felt she was keeping him as an option. She was scared to lose him even though she didn't want him. It made her feel terrible.
Kane felt a wave of nuesa hit him and he threw up in the kitchen sink. He was feeling a little sickly right after the trip to California. He had mentioned that to Stephanie but he didn't expect it to get so serious. Stephanie stood behind his large frame as he flushed the vomit with water from the tap. He rinsed his mouth and washed his face. Stephanie rubbed his back gently. He was shivering when she assisted him down to the couch. She went to fetch a blanket from his room. He had given her the direction. She inspected the boyish room. It had posters of different buildings. There were several textbooks on the table and a framed picture faced down. She lifted the frame and saw the two brothers, Kane and Shane. Kane stood on Shane's left, he had his arm placed over Shane's shoulder and his head was tilted towards Shane.St
Can life get any more awkward? Kane would've said had he not still been in bed. He felt himself on his bed, but what had happened to bring him here the previous night? The previous night! Stephanie had gently rocked him to sleep. He remembered her waking him up to come with her into the bedroom. She must've showered after that because he heard the sound of water splashing in his sleep. Then he smelt the sweet smelling fragrance of her perfume.Kane felt his hand curl over another human body. It was soft and feminine. He felt his hip against hers. Her lovely body curved about his. He felt a rush of excitement as the realization hit him. He hadn't slept in bed alone last night. She rolled over to face him. He let his hands remain curled over her body. Stephanie smiled at him. It was such a beautiful way to say good morning. She used her thumb to graze his bottom lips."Good morning," she said to him. Her voice was filled with affec
Simone hadn't known about Kane's brother. She felt guilty for not taking time to understand Stephanie. She hugged Stephanie from the back. The hug had startled Stephanie at first but she felt her body relax. Simone's gesture was just the right one. "Sorry," Simone said slowly releasing Stephanie from the hug. "However, this means nothing. I'll still fight you tooth and nail over Kane because I really love him. It pisses me to know you're not sure about your feelings for him but I understand better now." "Yeah," Stephanie whispered softly. "So where is your brother?" "Simon is a sleepyhead, he doesn't get up till it's mid-day unless he has an appointment," Simone said. "Would you do me a favor?" "It depends on what you are asking," Stephanie said. "Let's organize dinner together tonight and invite all our neighbors. We should find more fun ways to spend this
Simon was convinced that he was having a hard time adjusting to his new life. His memory told him that he was once gingerly and more open than he was at the moment. He decided to deal with his lackadaisical behavior whether it was a mental cause or an emotional one. He didn't know that he could fall in love with a girl and not be able to keep his cool around her. He was playing a video game on his tablet as he was laid down in bed.Upon hearing the doorbell ring he tossed the tab aside. He rushed to the mirror and to check out himself. He smoothened his hair. He was dressed up for the dinner although that was not going to happen right now. First, Stephanie had to drop by two hours earlier to help Simone with dinner preparation. He knew she was the one who rang the bell.He took a deep breath in and out and pulled back his bedroom door, opening it. He was heading to the living room."Mehn you're early, b
It was barely sunrise but Simon had gotten out of bed. Something was nudging him at his heart. As he stood watch over the ocean he felt a familiarity for this place. He heard a voice tell him that this water has seen it all. That this water knew his story. He bent down to dip his hand into the water. As he touched it, something mysterious happened, the water began glowing blue."What in the world?" Simon said, removing his hands instantly. The glowing stopped. He placed his hands again and the bluish glow returned. He repeated the process of dipping and taking his hand out of the water and the glowing started and stopped respectively. A man on his early morning jog stopped to watch Simon."Hey mister what are you doing?" the man yelled at Simon as he approached."It's the water that's glowing each time I put my hands into it and stops when I take my hands out," said Simon dipp
Arthur Griffin was standing at the front of the porch when his nephew Kane had come to open up the door for him. Kane received his uncle with a hug. It was just a few moments after the first light of the day and it should have been a little too early for a visitor or a hug."Uncle Arthur! What a pleasant surprise," Kane said, stepping aside to let the man slide into the house. It was indeed a pleasant surprise.Arthur was a cool man who liked minding his own business. He was not in attendance for Shane's burial but Kane recalled him calling and expressing his profound apology for missing it. He was an oceanographer and at the time of Shane's burial he had been on duty with his team somewhere in the Atlantic region."No more pleasant than it is to see you, my boy! Mehn you've become really buff. Life's treating you good now, eh?" Arthur said, giving a lopsided grin."Life's bar
